Near Death Experience

16 posts in this topic

Hello guys:),

Would you be so kind to share your stories about situations where you were about to die but survived.

What I really would like to know is consciousness behavior at that moment of danger and self-perception.  Lots of people say that they see some fragments of their life, others say that time slows down.

How does it feel when you know that the Reality, you got used to, might collapse at this very moment?

Thank you very much.

P.S. Sorry if my question was too straight forward, did not mean to hurt someone's feelings. Just realized that for some people it might be very sensitive topic.

i was in aa brutal car crash where why whole family died except me. TBH I have no memories what so ever. I remember only for my own scared scream, but nothing more. apparently after he fire fighters had to cut the car to get me out i just started to walk away and i told them that i gotta walk home before I collapsed. after this for weeks i have no memories at all, and never came back the past 3 years.

I have been a paramedic for 25 years. Death and dying is a big part of the profession. From what I have seen, when people die, from the outside, they seem to simply "turn off."  When we revive those same people, and they return to a wakeful state, they seem to have no recollection of anything that happened on the other side. Even the ones who narrowly avoided death haven't related anything. I believe everything Dr. Eben Alexander said but I can't say that I have seen anything like that for myself.

Depends. But in trauma seconds turn into a day. And all things most important are contemplated. Especially if you want forgiveness before you go. The next death is the wild one.

I remember when I was in the six grade, I went to school and fell down into the water-hall. It was cold winter, below Fahrenheit. It was so fast, however, that I did not understand what happened to me, but I survived.

Long time ago I read the book by Raymond Moody " Life after life". He found lots in common for people who ever experienced near to death state.

Sorry, I guess my question was a complete projection of my own experience.

I had like 4 near death experiences.

I see that we have some kind of protection of the universe or god, representing what we call supernatural.

After that you will have practically no fear anymore because you have noticed that there's something bigger over

The control of your life.

For almost 20 years, I was so ill that everybody thought I would die and I felt the same.

I must say that, in this moment, it didn't impressed me at all, it was ok, I was really quiet.

I was in a hospital and they gave me so many medicaments that I can't exactly remember

what happend, but one evening I felt good and I had too much energy to fall asleep

so I put a walkman (it's long ago..) on my ears and heard music through the night, imagining I was

flying over the mountains, diving in the sea, dancing on the Piazza Navona in Roma and so on..

The next day I felt deeply that I was healthy. SInce this time the death doesn't scare me anymore.

When I think back, it seems to me that what let me stay alive was surely the medicaments, but also

the mix of a profound surrender and the deep joy I felt, from this special night on, toward all the things that reminded

to be experienced.

Hope that you understand what I've tried to express and that will help you anyhow..

I'm curious to know what other's on the forum think about the near death experience phenomenon.

I have a story myself.

When I was seven I was in the hospital with pneumonia. One night in particular I must have had a very high fever and perhaps close to death or coma. From above my bed I watched as the panicking nurses drenched the sheets with cold water and laid me down on them probably in an effort to reduce the fever. It's all I can really remember of the incident and I never spoke to anyone about what had happened. To be honest I'd forgotten all about it until I watched a you tube video called Beyond Our Sight. Then the memory came flooding back.

This wasn't like the bright light tunnel scenario we hear of, but it was an out of body experience for sure. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or what your views may be on the subject.  By the way, the video is pretty insightful if you care to watch.  Journey on Brothers and Sisters.
