That's totally different because there is no power differential.

This whole discussion has turned into nonsense.

It could be argued that the fact sex is so stigmatized by our culture that we make a big deal out of it. Our closest DNA ancestor the Bonobo us sex as a form of affection and greeting including the adolescents.

I do think from an evolutionary perspective sex at puberty is normal. All mammals do it. The age at which Mary supposedly got impregnated with the baby of Jesus was 13.  The question these days is more a cultural one... does natural selection care about human imposed morality?

I care when anyone of any age is forced into prostitution against their will. Nobody should be a slave to anyone else through using fear as a means of control and threats of death with non-compliance. No human being should be property of someone else, period.  Doesn't matter if they are 10 or 25. The men behind these trafficking groups should have their testicles removed in public with no anesthesia as far as I'm concerned. Beyond that it's more of a grey area as far as mutual attraction goes.

Developing young girls can definitely have attraction to older men. The real question is whether we allow anything to happen as a society or not. It definitely happens all over the world in many cultures. In most of our specie's evolution it was basically normal for girls to be having sex and marrying in the age 12-18 range.  What was NOT normal was waiting until 30, or even 40.

i don't think a 14 years old girl would mind sleeping with a 21 years old guy or even 30 or 40 years old for that matter. in fact many 14 year old girls watch pornography and get turned on and squirt watching 30 and 40 years old dudes fucking.

It seems likely, plus on average they do have sexual fantasies.

What are your thoughts?

Do your homework and WATCH THE MOVIE. Stop asking our thoughts without watch it, if not you’re just gonna base your opinions on other people’s opinions.

@Danioover9000 You’re the one making a thread about a movie, asking the forum’s opinion about it but you even haven’t watch it!

This is like ask people’s opinion about Leo’s or anyone’s content but without watch it yourself! This is madness! Lol

I think he meant 15% of Americans are overt racists. The 20-30% are more covert Racists.

So what would be the message of the movie?

Let's find the criminals and incarcerate them? No objection, fine by me.

Assuming you can survive the mistreatment of the cinema staff. Apparently they're making the viewing experience uncomfortable by leaving the lights on, turning up the AC and so on.?

That's why I am waiting on the guys here to go in there and tell me what the movie's like.

Really? That's crazy. xD

If it wasn't uncomfortable enough to watch a movie about this theme, they want to emphasize it that way. I usually watch what are considered controversial movies, apart from the cool blockbusters that I like, but I was going to skip this one. It's not the first one to cover this anyway.

But since we are talking about this, US right-wingers have been going quite bonkers about these things with stuff like Qanon and Pizzagate. Do they want to fight the sexual exploitation of children and pedophiles? Fine, left-wingers too, but be serious about it.

@Danioover9000  It was awesome. I lost track of the time; before I knew it, the film was over.

It carries a balance all throughout that holds interest, from the cinematography to the editing and pacing. It manages to execute a delivery of a harsh topic without excess, with Hitchcock degrees of suspense in some points. I consider it tastefully done, especially given the budget. Shy of over 10 million dollars, sweat equity made up for any financial gaps and it showed. And it being a true story is the cherry on top as well, with probably the more real portrayals of what criminals of this category actually do, making it educational for people with kids.

The boy and girl that Tim Ballard saved are now adults and we may see them talk about their experience someday, which I hope they do.

If you watch it and come back to the media's reaction to it, you may scratch your head wondering what they're talking about, because the film is just a bare-bone, story-driven script, with characters with no talk of a political nature.  The core focus is found solely on the safety and prioritization of the victims.

At the end of the movie, Jim Caviezel provides a closing statement and asks to support the movie and donate a ticket. There were rows of people with their phones out to scan the QR code, and something about the lights of their phones adorning the dark of the theater was inspiring.

Of all movies made today, this, in my sincere opinion, is one worth watching, one worth talking about. In our self-work, we will seldom find better parts of ourselves to heal than what was harmed in childhood, that remained harmed well into adulthood. Look around you. This world lacks awareness of the child Self, and so it further neglects the children of the present state.

We talk so much about awareness. This movie promotes that with nothing short of love. As a film buff, I highly recommend it.
