Ganapataye: Another name for Ganesh, the deity who removes obstacles

Namaha: A salutation, similar to namaste.

History of the chant

This mantra is related to Lord Ganesha who is considered as the God of knowledge and wisdom. Ganesha’s trunk symbolizes his ability to overcome any obstacles in front of him and the rat is a symbol of someone who can enter even the narrowest of places to remove all hurdles. Ganesha is also known as a compassionate and kind God, who protects his disciples and bestows gifts upon them. This mantra is a call to Lord Ganesha to remove obstacles in our path and give us the strength to achieve our goals.

Ideally, it is recommended to chant this mantra 108 times every morning. This can purify your mind, body, and soul. You will slowly start seeing improvements in your goals. There are no strict rules one needs to comply with while chanting this mantra. You must bathe before reciting this. You must chant for 40 days.
