What you knuckleheads don’t understand is how difficult it is to get your life straight if you had a rough past. Usually getting it totally right in once is not even possible. Only little upgrades from a bad situation to a good situation.  So that is why I have so much respect that are trying the best they can.

   Sure, but that doesn't excuse Tate's webcam girls and pimping tactics, tax evasion and having a very sexist and misogynistic view. Yes, Pat's got better character than Andrew Tate and better morality, which is kinda sad to see him appearing to run cover stories for the Tates especially after that BBC interview.

I would also be careful about normalizing todays time. Shit was different. In Austria, politics worked great since the second world war. But now far right parties are surging, there is 0 appreciation for the work that has been done, nobody votes for people who address the real problems anymore. It's crazy. People are avoiding the work, fabricating fantasy problems, because the real problems are too difficult. And it feels only some good old pain will wake people up to not avoid hardship and responsability. It has to become clear again, that working together and finding ways to trust each other may not be fun, but the only way to avoid pain.

I have the feeling the way nations move forward is not by using their eyes. They just walk along until they hit a wall.

But as I mentioned in one of my latest threads, liberals and progressives MUST still combat all of the extreme right-wing media out there by growing their media ecosystem until it one day is able to rival and then surpass the right wing media. Centrist mainstream media new channels such as CNN and ABC are no longer enough to stave off the threat of all of the right-wing disinformation that’s been out there for far too long. We can’t no longer just let the far right continue eroding our country’s democracy and trust in the right institutions and the right leaders of our country.

@Leo Gura What could improve the epistemic ecosystem? Isn't it just more important that people become intelectually humble again. Realizing that they are not the smartest and that they have to trust smarter people to achieve the best outcomes.

   No dogma of any kind, and calling out individuals and groups for their bad faith tactics, uncharitable interpretations and lack of good faith. Call them out as ideological, deluded, and correcting that worldview is a start to how we can clean the epistemic ecosystem.
