An awakened mystic is beyond all stages.  It is only when they go back into the dream that they climb the ladder.  But they have already reached the top and came back down to embrace the climb.

I think he means the Buddhist dogma that people dont dare question is stage blue. Same with fundamentalist christians. Jesus and the Buddha were likely beyond turquoise or  transcended all stages. The people who blindly follow them without questioning are stage blue

I don't see spiral dynamics as necessarily a model of development of consciousness. It is more related to values. These two tend to correlate but also, no matter how conscious someone is, they might still hold stage blue or even purple values in the relative domain.

Spiral Dynamics is roughly about culture and cognition. Spirituality (or more specifically mysticism) transcends culture and cognition. Imagine being a Norwegian who goes to a cabin in the woods every winter, who studies in a liberal university and who votes in all local and national elections. You can still awaken to the same truth as someone who lives in the Amazon, who spends their days hunting and gathering and who takes commands from no one else than their tribe elders. Spiral Dynamics describes what is different between those two individuals. Spirituality describes what is common.
