Are we on some sort of high horse here at actualized?

I know this may sound egoic but I have a sense that since I've been following a lot of Leo's content for a while, had been on my own spiritual journey, consume a ton of this type of content and am an avid reader, dived deep into psychedelics, I feel as though I am "above" much of the world. The average American seems almost idiotic to me and most of the stuff  pushed out by popular culture I can barely stomache anymore because I just feel it is so below me.

BUT, I know we are all one. Everyone is a reflection of me. But idk, it just seems to me that much of the world is just absolutely oblivious to what is really going on here.

But at the same time I don't feel like I've achieved any real success yet in life. Getting a high paying job is really hard for me. Starting a business is hard. Going to grad school is hard. Finding my purpose is hard. It's weird.

Perhaps I am the idiot here.

So what are we guys? Are we deep, intellectual seekers with an understanding of the deepest sacred knowledge or are we a bunch of loonies? Or are we perhaps both?

Consider that a conspiracy theorist would be thinking the same way. ;)

"All these people know nothing man... They don't see that covid was one big hoax by the elites to enslave us... They're the NPCs, they're the sheep, I'm the hero, I'm the conscious one..."

Our minds are playing a lot of tricks. Be aware of how they look like in your experience. There's always justifications for why You know better.

You're making assumptions here.

Ask yourself:

Is it true? (Yes or no. If no, move to question 3.)

Can you absolutely know that it's true? (Yes or no.)

How do you react, what happens, when you believe that thought?

Who would you be without the thought?

Do that with all your limiting beliefs. From Byron Katie "the work".

For this reason I try to socialise with people who aren't into spirituality

Every person has experience that I don't have, women especially who are just born with big hearts.

As a collective this forum is foolish, but it's ok cuz we want to improve. It's understanable that foolish with a little glimpse of wisdom are majority here, they feel most urgency. Look at what bullshit get's most comments.

However: After 10-20 years a significant amount of people here is so advanved that normal people are like cave trolls. IDK  how to solve it - ad hoc ideas: become a leader or refuge in erimitage / monastery

Spiritual seekers might be more evolved in certain areas than your average person, but when you realize how wast the potential for wisdom truly is, you realize that all of these differences are marginal. The difference between the wisest of people and the most foolish of fools is actually not that big if you look at it from a universal pov. Even so called "enlightened beings" have an amazing capacity to be full of shit.

It's similar to how the difference in temperature between the Arctic and the Sahara is significant to us humans, but if you looked at it from the pov of the sun, these few degrees wouldn't make much of a difference to it. So don't confuse us calling the Sahara hot with the Sahara actually being hot. The Sahara is actually neither hot, nor not hot. It depends on your pov.

I like this metaphor, nice.

But to OP, Leo touched on this topic in one of his older videos (

iirc ) about "in a sense, you are 'higher' than your fellow peers, etc."

"But at the same time I don't feel like I've achieved any real success yet in life. Getting a high paying job is really hard for me. Starting a business is hard. Going to grad school is hard. Finding my purpose is hard. It's weird. " ~~ I would advise to double check your priorities. It is easy to get lost in philosophy/Truth while neglecting your SURVIVAL. MATURELY develop through EVERY stage; The same way you feel that you are "recognize the idiocy"  of those ignorant to truth, others could do for your survival. Humility is the key.

Why does it matter? Either you work or not doesn’t matter if it’s above or below someone else

I'd caution generalizing every individual on here into one category. People are here for different reasons: some for the personal development, some to experience the Absolute, some to start arguments, some to appease their inner psychonaut, some seeking human connection etc.

The most important questions:

What are you?

What is your motive for this post, defined in a single sentence?

What are you hoping to get out of this post?

What is the most immediate challenge in your life and what will you do about it?

I'd encourage you to not be so concerned with what others are doing and the state of the world. Everything will fall into place the more you work on understanding yourself!

Even if that's true, it wouldn't occur to anyone in the least normal way to get excited about the idea of being superior to their pets, even if that's true according to a certain number of criteria (dependency of the animal, difference in intelligence...).
It's just an animal.

It's funny, I currently mirror you.
It's not a crazy or not crazy question, I like the way you tell the story, but you tell it because you deny your own emotional needs.
So you turn your passion for philosophy, spirituality etc into a way to disconnect from the lack of your instinctual needs. And the world sends you back to what you want to escape for your sublimatory agenda, ie someone unconscious, normal etc.

You need a compliment or something like that.

It's part of the journey to feel this way. When you discover more and more of the depth of existence and see how shallow majority of people are it just takes time to adapt.

The hardest thing for me is balancing the spiritual and material. I'm always figuring this out.
