Is step 1: I put my Scotch tape in the blender?

Or do I buy a blender first!?

@Yimpa

Have you ever thought about becoming a professional comedian? I see a lot of potential there. A lot of potential for getting booed off the stage. ?

I would NOT recommend a novice drinker to drop a C-note on Scotch, of all liquors.  It's the one liquor I've ever had to pour into a friend's drink because I couldn't take it.  I'm not knocking it;  it's just that it's one of those divisive things that you either love or hate, like cilantro.  IMO, Rum or Bourbon would be much easier to start off with, with no need to break the bank to get one that's drinkable.

@LSD-Rumi I'd say your first issue is that it sounds as if you drank alone at home, possibly the cheapest bottom-shelf quality, without any mixer being mentioned, as if you were taking medicine.  Atmosphere is important for enjoying alcohol.  If you don't have friends who drink together, I wouldn't recommend you bother trying to start drinking yourself.

Not everyone who drinks alone is an alcoholic, but a habit of drinking alone is one of the major steps on the path to alcoholism.  Drink with friends and have a good attitude about it, or don't bother.  You're not missing anything if you haven't drunk 250mL of booze straight from a plastic bottle alone in a dark basement with a grimace on your face.  That's nobody's idea of a good time.

I bought half a liter of Vodka, and drank half of it maybe and WTF is that? It smells and tastes like handsanitizer and the effects are so weak. Why do people drink this shit?

Omg finally found someone that agrees. Its wack, both in taste and effects as you say. I wonder if there is something genetic or maybe something else that makes some of us less affected. Nothing ive tried so far as had any special effect

@Sugarcoat As a neurodiverse myself, it’s because we bring a lot of surprises to reality. If you think reality should be this way, NOPE, we create something completely wacky and weird, and we love it.

Silly humans want to contain our powers ?

I don't believe you.

Maaybe if your stomach was full of food and then you drank it over many hours.

Or maybe you got so drunk that you lost the memory or something.

I only drink pure vodka. It tastes bad but it's the best and easiest way for me to get drunk. And I don't get a hangover.

Just 1 or 2 big shots (6 cl per shot) is enough to get nice effects from it. And I love how fast and hard it hits. And makes my mind go in new directions, and sometimes makes me do good (social) things which I wouldn't have done sober.

But if I drink too much I can do stupid stuff.

@LSD-Rumi So you drank 25 cl. That's over 4×6 cl shots. You clearly did something "wrong".

Anyway, try again. Every time is different.

Or maybe you have shitty laws in your country so you were able to buy scam vodka, which had a low % of alcohol.

Neurodiverse people do things wrong all the time. That’s why we are loved!

I need scientific proof that you drank 25 cl of legit vodka within 1 hour without feeling very drunk, before I can believe you.

Alcohol is such a life-wracking substance. Half the people I know above 30 have a degree of alcohol problems. Its destroying health in my family, people So many young guys I've worked with had alcohol problems they were not even aware off until we started reducing it and their mental health just crashes (severe withdrawl) .

We have completely normalised drinking half the bottle with Netflix movie to "chill". Young people now need to have glass of wine when they cook, when they read , and when they watch TV. The level of avoidance and denial when I try to confront people sometimes is absolutely blowing my mind. You only need to spend a few days in the company of someone with alcohol issues to start seeing the full magnitude of it.  Having been brought up by a parent with alcohol problem, I can sense it miles away - the hiding, the shame, the feeble attempts to try to sound normal and reasonable, the endless runs down the stairs to "get something" when people just keep disappearing for a few minutes all the time, coming back with those glassy eyes.

Not to mention a dumb idle socialisation some people do when they go outside 3 times a week, talk about trash for 5 hours , spend 50 euros on overpriced cocktails, get drunk and go home to spend the evening on their phones ...I mean ...what in the actual f... are we doing???

Teaching young people about the dangers of addictive behavior is a start. The quality of the marketing system doesn't help. People are parroting behaviors we think is cool till it becomes too late and the body gets addictive to the substances. Judging people is not the answer, spreading awareness is. People will defend their addictive behaviors because it has become a way of being. They've identified with that part of their character, and because they're not making conscious choices, we make excuses as to why we either can't stop or justify why we do it, then it becomes a dependency or coping mechanism. No sense in confronting people about their addictive behaviors because they will only resent you for doing so, unless someone seeks out the help they need on their own it's useless to try and convince them. There's a reason why life is structured the way it is. It's called learning to love the self and we learn at our own pace. The paradox is, there is no self to love because the true Self is LOVE.
