I wanted to get links that would embed, could not figure out how to do that. If any of the mods would like to edit this post and embed all the images from the links below and re-upload them on this thread, please do so.

Also, @Leo Gura, please fix the Drag files here to attach section of this forum. Every time I try to upload an image, I get this error message:

Now  to the topic.

At the Smithsonian museum in Washington D.C., there is an exhibition for Asian art, a lot of which reminded me of Actualized.org. Some of the teachings I read reminded me of Leo's videos. Recently, they opened up a room specifically dedicated to Buddhist shrines.

Don’t get distracted. Statues are FOS. Buddhism is FOS. Buddhism and statues are about idolizing others who have awakened instead of awakening yourself. You cannot awaken without ambition and focus on your goals.

Nice pictures though. For a religion who is about detachment, followers of Buddhism put a lot of attention into statues, authority, and the idea of meditation and enlightenment. But nobody really wants to do the inner work. They just wanna buy statues and meditation pillows and go into lotus pose without realizing that none of those activities get you any closer to the goal.

“Our most valuable resource is not time, but rather it is consciousness itself. Consciousness is the basis for everything, and without it, there could be no time and no resource possible. It is only through consciousness and its cultivation that one’s passions, one’s focus, one’s curiosity, one’s time, and one’s capacity to love can be actualized and lived to the fullest.” - r0ckyreed

Nothing you said is inherent to Buddhism. Idolization, authority, ideals; these are human things.

True. But it is still harder to smell a Buddhist turd, whereas a Trump turd is much easier. Buddhism is a human thing that denies it’s a human thing.

Truth is neither a destination nor a conclusion. Truth is a living experience.

It's harder, but again, it's not "Buddhism" that does that. A Buddhist turd denies it's a human thing. Buddhism certainly aims at something beyond human things, but it doesn't inherently deny that it's a human thing. That is just one of many human traps, and Buddhism is one vehicle for that trap.

Absolutely beautiful works of art.

The best art is immaterial. The best art is your awakening.

Parroting Leo is not awakening too.

There is more to life than awakening. Appreciating beauty is an important part of the human experience.
