A post I made in Destiny's subreddit lol

It's not getting much engagement, so I figured I would ask some of you guys (and by the way, it's my very first post on there, so trust me, I've yet to be completely swallowed by the Destiny cult, I swear! :/).

What steps did/does Destiny take for interacting with people like Nick Fuentes?

Consider the saying "good relationships are the ones where the people make it work, not where the people are perfect for each other". It's probably a wise saying, but you would also probably counter it with "but you also need to set boundaries and not let people take advantage of you". That is also probably a wise saying, but you could argue that it's even more wise to be aware of both perspectives while knowing how to balance them in any given situation.

Now, when it comes to Destiny's general philosophy of interacting with people with opposing views, we know that one of his main goals is basically to focus on the first saying (of "making it work"). So he'll be warm and charitable and all that, open to listening to people's perspectives, etc. Now, the critique of say people like MrGirl in Destiny's handling of Fuentes, was that he was not cautious enough with setting some boundaries (the second saying). In fact, MrGirl himself provided some examples of such boundaries that he would set himself if he were to speak to Fuentes, i.e. a strict interview setting with tight frame control and less contextual confusion ("is Fuentes his friend or not?").

Now, I'm not here to argue for any specific prescription (MrGirl or otherwise), but I'm just curious whether or not Destiny has stated if he has had (or currently has) any such boundaries when interacting with people like Fuentes. Does he take any deliberate steps to address the "safety concerns" associated with such figures, or is he merely focused on "making it work" and letting whatever societal fallout be what it is? Because again, while I'm not arguing for any specific prescription, I think I am arguing for having "a" prescription of some form (a boundary).

Maybe there are good arguments for not setting any deliberate boundaries in the Fuentes situation, but I would in that case like to hear those arguments. Because when you're dealing with something that is dangerous, it's generally more wise to be on the side of caution and maybe implement at least some safety measure rather than none. In other words, to pull it back to the beginning: if being wise is knowing how to balance two perspectives in a given situation, I think this is a situation that requires some careful balancing.

Anyways, I wrote this because I'm not currently aware of any such safety measures, but maybe they do exist and I'm just unaware of them. Thanks anyway.

It's a decent topic thread from reading it there. I think the main problem is you're title isn't catchy click baiting enough to hook, line and sinker others into reading and engaging with you, if you want to maximize engagement. You'll have to do a few shit posts or some other types of posts, get some rep in that community, and then maybe you'll get that traction you want. Otherwise if engagement isn't the goal an something else is, then focus on that.

Of course, I ain't no expert in manipulating and marketing others into your post, maybe a few examples of titles like 'When Mr. Girl flirted with Destiny, and the bromance was strong.', or 'The love triangle of Destiny: Mr. Girly and Nickle back Fuentes.' , 'The drama that the FBI nearly got involved in'. Of course there's a thin line between puffing and hyperbole of your title versus misleading title, and write it in a similar way to those journalistic articles, drip feeding the points and really hooking readers in. Good post though, nice you started out with two quotes or parables of a situation where it can be imbalanced depending on the context.

Please, no more threads about silly drama about Destiny, Mr. Whatever, etc. I don’t think these guys add any value to higher purposes like most of us on the forum. :(

My dude, this is the entertainment section of the forum. You don't go here to get enlightened. Besides, this hyper-puritan mentality isn't good for anyone. Don't get too caught up in the personalities and focus on the issues that are being discussed.

People add value regardless of what perspective you're seeing them from. Point of view drawing is all about this principle, just change the viewing angle and almost everything drawn changes.
