Progress In First World Countries Vs Third World Countries

I truly feel like animal in a zoo living here in Iraq. Life is just about nothing but eating, sleeping. 

It's a prison, and I don't get to become a part of anything meaningful or any endeavor. Progress where I live means just to paint a facade of normalcy and being in harmony with the rest of the world on top of everything, and bring concepts from left and right and apply it to the country. 

Life otherwise is about absolutely nothing else. And the only exception is when a religious day celebration comes, or a secular one like new year. Other than that people are just eating, working sleeping, and making babies. 

The undemocratic regimes makes me feel that I am living in the 15th century, where you can't say anything or else you might be dragged to jail and stay there indefinitely without a trial just like hundreds of cases I've heard about.

To anyone believes in progress in the third world countries, people like CNN, you're just being delusional, and cherry-picking evidence. 

In my mind, no real progress can start without taking in consideration personal rights of expression and free speech, otherwise it will always be about a bunch of idiots who are taking a country into a direction they like. They can make a facade of a nation that's surviving, but that's all. No real progress, and everything can come back down at any moment and descend into chaos and genocide.

The USA is still sponsoring a regime in Iraq that's corrupt and no real progress can be felt when it comes to forge a one, united Iraqi nation. Things wouldn't work through trying to force a system or copy a system. But anyways, people won't be able to understand unless the show comes down again.

   What do you mean it's like a prison? 

   Are you not happy with your current situation? You want more than a simple life?

   Isn't CNN more a centrist/moderate based news outlet? Do you mean people like TYT, VICE, the majority report, these more progressive/socialist people?

   Do you also think that the geography and geopolitics and economy of your region is the other hurdle for a united Iraq, other than a political one?

   Do you think it has to do with the Neoliberalism from America, just prioritizing the oil over nation building of your country?

There're consequences and punishment if you do the wrong move or venture to the wrong territories. Here I can't say there's trash on the street, and even when writing those lines, I feel somebody's going to come after me.. probably I need to use VPN from now on.. 

You can get stopped by secret police, who can drag you into a secret prison at any time and now one will know anything about where you are. no trials.

I am OK more or less, yet I am compensating a lot for people who are dogmatic. you can't achieve anything, not even make money unless you're totally corrupt and don'c give a fuck about anything else.

Whenever I open CNN I see programs about Africa, and sustainability, and technology changing life there. This is all crap in my opinion. There's a certain quality. When you don't have a share in inventing something new, certainly you won't be able to integrate it in your life.

I am not educated enough with those terms, but hey, some nations are better to just disappear. We know that those borders are not going to last forever. Why do you want Iraq to be stable and united anyways?

I am afraid I don't understand, yet nation building is a mirage.. if a nation can't have the will to build itself, no ammount of support can change that.

Yes I can only imagine how difficult it must be. Self actualization in a predominantly stage purple-red-blue area is extremely challenging. Honestly if I were in your situation, I would make it my number one priority to move to a new more developed country with higher prospects. Possibly some place in Europe. How difficult would it be to move out of Iraq?
