One Way You Create Suffering That You May Not Notice - Brendan Lea

11 posts in this topic

  • Do you create unnecessary suffering?
  • Do you compare yourself to others?
  • Do you compare yourself to what you should be?
  • Where do I compare myself to other humans? (Money, Fame, Intelligence, Social Status)

I think you can stop it, because YOU ARE DOING IT.

Comparison just serves you to HURT YOURSELF.

I understand this

people get this by doing their best and still being punished/judged by it

god gave me the mantra to heal this and everything you do. If something you think you did wrong but you didnt mean to, just close your eyes and say

everything i do is perfect over and over

and its actually true by metaphysical philisophy

You exist therefore you are needed for reality to exist

and you dont have to punish yourself for existing

You can say this mantra and believe it as a truth because it is because god is saviour

@Hojo We are whole and complete in this moment.

The only problem is that your brain/mind was not designed to be whole, complete or enough.

Fear is the OS-Mind.

Seeking is the most powerful skill in the OS.

@CARDOZZO Spot on. As someone that has lived in judgment for decades, my advice is to let it go. It doesn't mean abandoning discretion on the relative level, only seeing deeply, beyond the illusion of separation.

Judgment is suffering. It doesn't matter if you are comparing yourself to others, or if you are comparing yourself internally, to a contrived standard.

Contrast is the illusion of separation, which only strengthens the ego. It entraps awareness within apparent boundaries, which causes conflict with itself. This clash happens regardless of whether you are judged to be higher than or lower than something else. The appearance of separation is unsettling, distracting, and enslaving.

It is the opposite of unconditional love, which is our true nature. Learn not to judge, and you will be in the perpetual flow state of the absolute, even while still within its dream.

Just because God loves you doesn't mean it is going to shape the cosmos to suit you. God loves you so much that it will shape you to suit the cosmos.

the problem is that it's not something you can control if you really believe those kinds of thoughts. first you must delve into reality enough to realize that there is no better and worse. If you don't really realize that, no matter how much you meditate and try to control your mind, you won't be able to.

Imagine that you went to the First World War , and you couldn't stand it, you were extremely cowardly, and the rest of your mates were very brave. Every time you think about it, a very strong feeling of not being enough arises, invades you and is uncontrollable. How to escape this self-judgment? going to another war and overcoming your fear, exposing yourself to death? or eliminating any thought of comparison with nothing? the ideal is the latter, but it is not easy! we are genetically programmed to compare and compete.

That is the ego, it's very deep, It sticks its tentacles deep into you. transcending it is freedom. that's the game we play here, go beyond the human, cheat the software implanted in the hive matrix, that makes us stupid unhappy slaves.

@Breakingthewall The real deal is knowing how to stop the activity.

How do I create comparison? What is it in the first place?

By identifying as an I, which necessitates a comparison with apparent others.

all animals are compared to decide which reproduces. The tribal human uses comparison and competition to increase the chances of survival of the tribe. it's partly genetic and it's very hard to get away from that.

Stopping that activity is very important imo because it enslaves you, makes you a puppet with a self-critical software that works driven by fear and the feeling of incompleteness. I would say that the only way to stop this is meditation, at least for me. and it only works for a few hours, then the software starts up again, and even you know not to believe those thoughts, they grab you, penetrate into you and cloud your mind

@Breakingthewall I’m contemplating more and more Ralston’s books.

I think that it is a real possibility to end a majority of activities that just hurts ourselves.

I think we can do that with some Enlightenment Experiences + Meditation + Contemplation + Attention/Presence when these activities appears on our awareness.

Psychedelics seems a powerful tool also but I’ve never used so I cannot speak from direct experience.
