LSD-Rumi

Alcohol should have been replaced with this substance

GBL/GBH is popular as a rape drug because of its high potency and ease of use against girls, so it has a very negative presence in the media. However, it produces almost the same effects as alcohol with way less toxicity and side effects. Studies showed no specific toxicity from it even when consuming it for long periods, apart from those done on rates with very high doses, and not all of them showed brain toxicity. And This one is of course way cheaper than alcohol.

I guess we are an idiot species that don't like to change. We like the safety of the things we know even when we are drinking poison.

Alcohol is cheap, relatively easy to dose (little chance of overdose to consume it in stupid doses), obviously has a taste quality.

The devil is in the details.

Alcohol destroys your liver and brain and causes cancer. GBL doesn't and it is way cheaper to synthesize a chemical in a lab than in a factory. it also works in the range of milligrams, So it can be diluted in beverages.
