If life is a dream, why is everything so consistent?

27 posts in this topic

I mean, in regular dream, there are so many illogical things happening that you realize you are inside a dream a lot of the times. Places changing their appearance, persons changing their faces, jumps in time, etc.

Why is this reality dream so consistent that not a single illogical thing ever happens or single little detail ever changes? Every day, you wake up and your surroundings remain the same.

You are a selfless LACK OF APPEARANCE, that CONSTRUCTS AN APPEARANCE. But that appearance can disappear and reappear and we call that change, we call it time, we call it space, we call it distance, we call distinctness, we call it other. But notice...this appearance, is a SELF. A SELF IS A CONSTRUCTION!!!

So if you want to know the TRUTH OF THE CONSTRUCTION. Just deconstruct the construction!!!! No point in playing these mind games!!! No point in creating needless complexity!!! The truth of what you are is a BLANK!!!! A selfless awareness....then that means there is NO OTHER, and everything you have ever perceived was JUST AN APPEARANCE, A MIRAGE, AN ILLUSION, IMAGINARY.

Everything that appears....appears out of a lack of appearance/void/no-thing, non-sense (can't be sensed because there is nothing to sense). That is what you are, and what arises...is made of that. So nonexistence, arises/creates existence. And thus everything is solved.

Cool, but those are just some stories on the internet. I am talking about my own experience of the dream.

The most illogical thing that has ever happened to me is that sometimes I feel like people are reading my mind and know things they shouldn't know.

Because Reality is not limited by a mind or logical process, it can actually be 'perfect', thus it doesn't make any mistakes.

The colour, shade, texture...etc of the wall you see on the street will be the fucking same for 100 fucking years, and yet it's still being imagined by YOU

How would you know reality is consistent? Based on your memory? Who's to say your memory wasn't created with everything else right here right now? Maybe what you consider consistency isn't consistency at all. Why is your hand staying a hand consistence? Didn't you move it from point A to B? Wasn't that change, wasn't that break in consistency? Why do you draw a line at movement. Notice you are drawing a blurry line where consistency ends and inconsistency begins. Maybe you don't know what illogical or logical even is. The basis for all of that is based in survival and practicality.

@FourCrossedWands Is reality really as consistent as it seems? Have you ever seen someone's face the exact same way twice? Same facial expression, same light, same shades, same color, same angle, same perspective?

God has infinite intelligence available to make that dream so perfectly designed, so consistent that he himself forgets it is a dream.

I know it's all relative. When I look at it from another perspective, reality is so incredibly perfect that it just can't be real, it must be an illusion. I just wouldn't call it a dream.

Obviously so that you never wake up.

It's only relatively consistent. When you notice the inconsistencies in this dream, that is when you wake up, and you'll be in an even more consistent dream.

Sigh.

1. Your post right now is just some story on the internet.

2. Any reply anybody makes to you is just some story on the internet

3. If you were only talking about your own experience of the dream....then why would you be asking us? What can we tell you about your own direct experience? We can't without first experiencing you.

sigh......

I think a better question to ask is how the fuck is it so solid. Why is my brain not fucking up almost ever. I cant remeber besides being on drugs where my reality wasnt consistent. Isnt that itself not fishy? Supposed Billions of reactions going on all the time and everything looks perfect almost all the time

A "regular dream" only seems inconsistent from the pov of waking consciousness. When you really look at this from the perspective of dreaming consciousness, everything seems consistent enough within the dream so that it maintains its perceived reality.

For 99% of people, probably something like 99% of dreamtime is spent believing that the dream is what it seems. The dream is entirely internally consistent. Even when very weird things happen in the dream, it usually doesn't cause an awakening into lucidity in the dream. It is just explained and rationalized away in the moment it happens in the dream. Just like in the movie Truman show. Dreaming totally lucidly is actually very very rare when you look at how much time is spent in nonlucid dreaming. Isn't it interesting that usually when we dream we totally believe we are in the "ground reality", and we usually don't even question it for a moment?

Exactly.

I used to drink a lot, smoke marijuana, masturbate, etc. and I experienced all kinds of small glitches, memory loss, telepathic experiences. But, since I have started living a healthy lifestyle, reality is so solid it's crazy.

I envy your upbringing and structured mind.

My life was a mess of illogical inconsistencies.  Vague metaphors. Decisions made out of fear. A constant uncertain environment. Unexpected spiritual experiences and general insanity for the first 30 years or so.

You are your reality. So that's what I was.

As we accept all. Heal all. Love all. Things become more settled. We are in a period of consolidation at the moment as well globally, drawing back, conserving, doing more with less etc. It rewards efficiency and refined routine.

The dream is extremely consistent - but also drops hints all the time at it not being real.

I don't think that the point of the dream is to escape something, but it's like a divine play. A perfect play in absolute harmony. And our quest is to discover what this dream is capable of.

One Word: Density

Thought has taken on mass, our collective assumptions have manifested as physical form, thought that moves like molasses in our consensus Reality

You'll notice our night dreams aren't completely chaotic either; they have their own logic and can even have specific recurring themes or narratives
