What is Hell?

22 posts in this topic

Previously I had this  definition of hell that is the sinking into the ego, the total control of the ego over you, when the anger, the hatred, the fear, the primitive impulses within you  that forms the ego, increase to such a high degree that your life turns into hell. It is the opposite of the spiritual path, the devil path.

I then adopted another definition, a more complex one. Hell is the collective suffering of all beings. It is the price we pay for existence. It is the suffering endured by animals for humans to exist. It is the suffering endured by humans to give rise to the next generation. It is the dark that comes with the light.

Hell is the byproduct of existence, it cannot be eliminated. Life comes in a package, hell comes with heaven.

Leo says there is some hell dimension that he experienced, but this could be just his personal hallucinations.

"Say to the sheep in your secrecy when you intend to slaughter it, Today you are slaughtered and tomorrow I am.
Both of us will be consumed.

My blood and your blood, my suffering and yours is the essence that nourishes the tree of existence.'"

Suffering. A state of consciousness. Nothing more.

“Our most valuable resource is not time, but rather it is consciousness itself. Consciousness is the basis for everything, and without it, there could be no time and no resource possible. It is only through consciousness and its cultivation that one’s passions, one’s focus, one’s curiosity, one’s time, and one’s capacity to love can be actualized and lived to the fullest.” - r0ckyreed

You are hallucinating a hell dimension that will personally affect you, this is correct.

I think its kind of like being put in a cage with no identity you cant move cant even question being there but you are there experiencing it on a soul level. So like the most extreme sensations given to you until you black out repeated over and over thousands of times until you become so dull to it you just repeat it without even noticing you are even aware.

What you first said resonates well, then the mind kicked in and well you know how the mind works :P Its usually our gut/initial first instinct that is usually always on point, then the ego/mind comes in and tries to analyze, dissect, separate and ends up distorting the truth of the matter.

Hell is ultimately all of this, the mind, always seeking, always asking questions, always suffering, caught up in endless loops and cycles ect...

Heaven is freedom from all of that and total peace of just being, surrender and relaxing unto existence itself.

As above so below, as within so without.

To experience the highest Heaven, you must incorporate the Hell within it. That’s the main reason why almost nobody enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

heaven will emphasize the devil within you

hell will emphasize the angel within you

once your angel and your devil are One, you are in Heaven.

(sorry for writing hell with a capital letter, there is no such thing..)

I experienced my personal hell after my first ego death. In my mind I was trapped in an endless corridor with many doors. Each door opened a moment of my life in which I hurt or caused suffering in some way to another being. It wasn't just this life, but all the lives I've lived and I was there for eternity, it changed me deeply.

Not at all. Hell is a lonely place. People are too egoistic to suffer together and share each other’s burden.

The intersection between 1. the infinite nature of your being, and 2. the finite nature of your life...

Results in...

Heaven when in service to all.

Hell when in service to self.

So to speak.

Take this thought experiment: Imagine what would happen if omnipotent/omniscient God erased God's memory and then incarnated as you, and then lifted that ignorance upon your character's death. How much gratitude or guilt would you/God have for the choices God/you allowed you to make freely? No guilt if the ignorance is lifted, but if God allows you to choose not to lift the ignorance, then amazingly, that's how one could theoretically freely choose hell -- again, this nonetheless would be due to ignorance and not understanding one's own desires. This ignorance can be used to trap oneself in hell, or help yourself and others break out. All for Love.

“The only way out, is in.”

In other words, if you’re afraid to face your bullshit, you will convince yourself that you’re not full of shit!

Also, fun fact, shit comes out of your ass and into the toilet.

Well, If humans wouldn't exist, the suffering of other beings would be quite moderate. most of their time they live in a state of happiness and fulfillment. when they get sick, or are eaten by other animals, they suffer a short time and die. instead humans suffer by default and cause suffering and destruction to everything they touch

How do you reconcile this then? :S

I never had direct experience with that so I can't tell.
