awakening is the breaking of the limits, so if the limits return, there is no awakening. there was, but now there isn't. but are the boundaries as solid as they were? No, they are a bit weaker. so with each dissolution.

And not just that. With every dissolution and the following solidification of the structures, understanding happens

The practices are probably useless. Probably we will remain stuck in egos until smoking more toad or dying. Staring at walls trying to get back to it is probably total BS.

At some point, you have to let go of all your attachments. Practices are just means to that end.

Notice, your ability to do math requires memory. That doesn't make math any less true. No mathematician is stressing over math being undermined because it requires memory.

i'm pretty advanced at maths ... years back i made myself forget everything so that every problem is solved from first principles

i know no mathematics yet i can solve most every maths problem even advanced stuff like the 4-color theorem

i determined to keep my mind empty so it was primed for creative insights ... this proved wise and timely as i got some good papers published

this is what good mathematicians do in fact

it takes minutes to go from zero to the absolute frontier of mathematics if you train yourself

i look at it as intuition, i don't need the intermediate steps, i can attack any problem and it makes perfect sense, i get there by a quicker path than anyone has before, people think maths is hard, no your mind is full of lots of useless nonsense that is preventing you from seeing the truth

am also perfectly happy to avail of google to collaborate and corroborate ... all about deepening one's insights and mastery

I taught myself design like this. I can 100% confirm this boosts creativity to an insane amount.

The only problem I see in this statement is that math syntax is actually kinda hard to read if you don't know what the symbols mean.

the syntax is just like the letters of the words ... all the syntax makes sense when you play around with it and you realize it can not be any other way ... yes you need to have spent some years around it but then you see that is the best, the most shorthand, the most efficient way to get the ideas across ... you will never forget the letters of the alphabet and likewise the language of maths becomes equally ingrained

Awakening allows both limits and no limits. Reality doesn’t favor one or the other, but you certainly do.

@Leo Gura i was the most awake on the planet but then I forgot... ^_^

Happens all the time. But not on the planet, the planet of course being totally imaginary.

Though some of it you don’t forget, you do necessarily have to block out quite a bit to function as whatever will be an adequately believable form-role — but it’s not really a causal relationship (at least apart from ultimately being imagined as one).

Training is a form of memory.

You've just learned mathematics so deeply that you don't even consider it memory any more. But if you think back to when you were a child, you had to struggle just to understand that 5 x 5 = 25. Now it seems obvious, but it really isn't obvious if you are learning from scratch.

You are correct that state is king and you cannot just will yourself into a higher state. However, you jump to some wrong conclusions about that.

1) Psychedelics trips are much more than about occupying a different state, they are also about self-reflection, insight, contemplation, understanding, dealing with emotional baggage, healing trauma, and exposing yourself to new experiences. All of this has a cumulative effect on the mind and produces growth, maturity, widsom, self-mastery, and development.

2) By your logic all meditative practices are also useless because any awakenings acheived by meditation are also temporary experiences which fade over time. This is clearly a silly position.

Just because you have a temporary experience does not mean it doesn't powerfully affect you. Rape is a temporary experience. Notice how silly is it to tell someone, "Oh well, you aren't being raped right now so it's not important. Rape is just a state."

Notice your double standards. You would never dismiss rape in the way you dismiss a trip. Now imagine being raped 300 times and what that does to the psyche.

There is no problem with memory. Your whole life hinges on memory. If you lost your memory you would not know how to use a toilet or that you were even human. So there is no way around that. Every spiritual person relies on memory of their spiritual work. To even claim you had an enlightenment requires memory. This doesn't invalidate their work.

But Leo, I don't want to be raped 300 times

You had many ego deaths but I wonder one thing which is consuming me from inside... Did you see rape torture and cruelty, cannibalism on those insanity trips ? Or is it just my fucked up mind ?

People are imaginary.

Notice how I did not say unreal.

It’s a paradox.
