Are death threats real?

10 posts in this topic

I post something on the TikTok and I get bunch of death threats and I'm scared. I'm wondering if it's that's real and how to deal with it.

Mostly not, but you never know which one might be, which is what makes it dangerous and unnerving.

Pretty much any major content creator will get them if they do any remotely controversial content.

Not all death threats are equal. There is a difference between receiving a death threat in a comment thread versus receiving an email with your address and demands.

Now that is direct knowledge xD

Just because God loves you doesn't mean it is going to shape the cosmos to suit you. God loves you so much that it will shape you to suit the cosmos.

To deal with them, you just block and report each one to Tik Tok if it's like nasty hateful comments, or dms. Go to the ellipsis vertical thing, the icon for options and just click report user for death threats/suggestive threats, and any other TOS they're breaking, and block the user. Think of this in a pragmatic/practical view: You value making content, producing shorts, maybe other social media content or other content outside the internet, and you have other things in life to deal with on top of that, so it's useful to waste little time on trolls/haters/critics that post nasty comments about you or your content. Also be mindful of any emotional feelings you feel, notice them, label as FEEL, and observe the feeling live and move through your body and mind, also be mindful of how the emotion influences how you think, keep observing until you notice the feeling fade away and make way for another feeling, and so on.

It'll also depend on what content you're making, what subject you're covering in those shorts, the message, but if you want more specific advice you'll have to link your Tik Tok account here and share with us what content you've made. @Juan's a Tik Tok user as well as has gotten some specific advice after sharing his/her Tik Tok with us.

Let's be honest, it's hard not to feel sorry for the stalkers, like they're so lost and directionless in what to do with their life, or who they really, or are clueless to their stage of development, cognitive and moral development, personality type, ego development, and have other regressions and challenges in other lines of development in their life domains that they come across as cringe and creepy. I feel more sadness and empathy for the stalkers, less for the female streamers but I still feel for them, and zero fucking empathy for Destiny as he deserves every evil upon him. I put blame on Twitch for monetizing and making this a business modal, the Only Fans feature. This is solely on Twitch being predatory with their capitalistic ventures here, and it's understandable if you look at the history of Twitch's development as a business.

I also feel like this whole dynamic is like a scam, like Twitch benefits and makes money from putting these streamers at risk and they're the ones profiting from most of these people's misfortunes online, encouraging these toxic dynamics to happen without compensating some of these streamers properly.

Most death threats are meant to just shake you and are just irational individuals lashing out emotionally. Its an attempt to try and get under your skin because they didn't like what you said. People get upset over nothing on the internet all the time. Its stupid.

If a person is sending you a threat, block them. Its not worth having that shit clutter your mindspace. If you think it is serious, notify appropiate authorities.
