How certain are you of immortality?

Can anybody here say for absolute certainty that life goes on after the death of the body?

Define life.

Just because God loves you doesn't mean it is going to shape the cosmos to suit you. God loves you so much that it will shape you to suit the cosmos.

The human body changes and will die.  But existence of the present moment is eternal.  The Present Moment or Consciousness is what is immortal not the human identity.  How do I know that the Now/Force/Consciousness is immortal?  Well, nonexistence does not exist.  So whatever exists exists in this eternal Now.  Sleep and death occurs in this Now and so does all past and future.  In a way, death is the womb of life and all life comes from death and returns to it just like all rivers must lead back into the Ocean.  That is one way to look at it.

The only thing that I truly know is that consciousness exists. Even the idea of death is something inside of consciousness.

“Our most valuable resource is not time, but rather it is consciousness itself. Consciousness is the basis for everything, and without it, there could be no time and no resource possible. It is only through consciousness and its cultivation that one’s passions, one’s focus, one’s curiosity, one’s time, and one’s capacity to love can be actualized and lived to the fullest.” - r0ckyreed

In a physical sense, no.

@Enlightement I thought not in the spiritual sense right? What is physicality? It's something worth contemplating about at least for me.

I did not want to assume that you didn't contemplate.

What I meant is (although nothing can ever be stated as an absolute truth), that we may not be able to live forever in eternity (since scientists are desperately trying to find ways to immortality), yet it could be possible that life is an experience in human consciousness that continues forever even after the death of the human body and this might be something we call infinity or eternity, although this is mere speculation and should always be taken with a grain of salt when it comes to esoteric matters.

I suspect it might be that we are literally the world which remains behind. That we don't even exist at all. Qualia existing in absence of the idea of consciousness doesn't seem to be possible. I think it will be something very strange like that and that is immortality of course, if we never actually even existed at all, only the idea we do, then it is immortality as nobody exists to die.

I imagine it may happen that I die, then the biggest cosmic prank of all time is revealed, which is the convincing of nobody that it's somebody. Then realizing I never existed at all, thinking I did was the practical joke. Then laughing like a psycho in whatever midway state I'd be in at the absolute impossibility of it.

@Paul5480 Direct insight into the nature of God. No where to go. All differences are imaginary. Mind is all.

Just keep going until you have a state that time/space/distance/life doesn't exist. You get so big that the concept of size doesn't exist.

You are that and this, everything in between. Also the body is so HEAVY :D.

Don't seek this out. Just be open/receptive to it. Set an intent and carry on with your spiritual practice, meditation, life, dream analysis, shamanism, whatever it is that brought you here.

Same for divine love. Same for being incredibly small.

Nothing I can write here will ever replace or even replicate a small glimpse of those states.

Death is beautiful…

… depending on your state of consciousness

You can become conscious of what life-death is but it wouldn't be a matter of conviction but of consciousness. Talking from hearsay, you'd grasp that, since your nature isn't born, it can't die. Immortality is about you directly realizing that, not about a self or body living forever. It wouldn't be life persisting but you. :)

Death is no more you (self), so life stops for that self, I'd say. As for what happens after death, the truth is that nobody knows.

100%. Its not really possible to be any other way. Existence only has one quality, to Exist. Therefore, what exists is Eternal, always was and always will be.

As above so below, as within so without.

It’s also really possible to be many other ways that you originally didn’t think was possible.
