How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

@Jwayne  OMG, how can you not see how you're mind is weaponizing logic and justifications to justify your faulty assumptions of the Dalai Lama being a sexual predator? And you're basing all this from edited clips and faulty news reporting, really?

Did the Dalai Lama show lust or love and playfulness? Love and playfulness, end of discussion! If you're too triggered to understand that state matters, versus object impermanence or facts over feelings, then you've lost the discourse.

@Salvijus  You are right intuitively, there's no use rationalizing to people who have made up their minds that Dalai Lama is sexy predator in blankets, they've already made up their minds that defenders of Dalai Lama are deluded sycophants of spirituality. It's pointless to talk to emotionally blinded people busy fighting caricatures of evil in their minds.

Apparently this video is several months old.   I looked at it briefly and the whole interaction only lasted for a few seconds.  If people saw this without commentary most wouldn’t have noticed anything special.    The video is released with a negative interpretation, which influences other people to see the same interpretation, and it goes viral.  It’s important to note that the Dalai Lama was a political leader and has enemies, particularly the CCP, that want to discredit him.  Who released the video and for what motive?  This is all about people feeling better by putting down another human being who has been placed on a pedestal and found to have feet of clay.  This is the kind of thing that goes viral.    Gossip is corrosive to the human soul and makes you even more miserable.  The Dalai Lama is still happy.  And social media still sucks.

Hard agree here. I can't belief I forgot that China could be a factor here as well. They're even slowly building a road and funneling their Chinese citizens overtime to influence and do 'soft invasions' into Tibet.

I believe that you can write out these interpretations today, if not soon. It's like the re-contextualization game basically.

@Blackhawk don't mean to be rude, but it sounds like you're making excuses to justify your porn use.

How did you arrive at the belief that it's not possible for you to stop masturbating to porn?

I think this is the whole point of this thread, fine tuning to that silver lining, and test that spiritual development of yours.

Go and ask some children in your neighborhood (doesn't matter what country it is) to 'suck your tongue' and see how many of them find it playful. And see how many parents are offended. And see how many people in the community are alarmed.

And try to defend your action to them on the basis of your spiritual superiority, specifically your deep love and compassion for children.

We don't need to rush to judgement on the character of Dalai Lama based on a 50-second clip. But neither do we need to normalize old men mouth kissing and asking for 'tongue sucking' from young boys as 'playful'.

Dalai Lama is a role model, right? A supposedly very spiritual being. He should be held to the highest standards. Instead many are making excuses for him.

Where is the evidence that its normal in Tibet to do this behavior between old men and children?

There should be other videos of old Tibetan men and young boys behaving like this, right?

Can you find anything like that?

You are fighting concepts and fears that are imaginary and not there. Hello? It's red herrings all over your face, are you even reading what you're typing, heating what you're saying to yourself?

The assumption being that if there's little to no evidence,  and it's rare for an average population of people, city goers and villages to behave a certain way, that means it's bad behaviour, creepy, cringe and bad and evil people do them. This begs the question: Is the Dalai Lama's actions makes him a bad and evil person?

Also, what do you consider evidence to justify the outcry to Dalai Lama?

The favorable interpretation ranges from Dalai Lama can do nothing wrong because he's a spiritually superior being to he made an innocent mistake.

The unfavorable interpretation ranges from he is expressing the dark side of volcel sexual repression and perhaps has done similar (or worse) behaviors before in-private to he acted inappropriately.

We cannot know his intentions. The benefit of the doubt goes to his lifetime(s) of spiritual practice.

We cannot know the suffering he may have brought to the kid. The benefit of the doubt goes to take caution in protecting the child.

It is logical that there ought to be more evidence of his 'inappropriate' lifestyle/activity, if it exists.

And it is also reasonable to expect some statement from the family if they felt the situation was inappropriate or not.

Another context is whether Tibetan culture accepts the Dalai Lama'a actions. That may be a mixed reaction. Maybe something more definitive will surface.

@SunnyCyn says the woman who created a cult lol Teal Swan is abusing her power as well, of course she will defend him

@Jwayne yes that would be very interesting to see more evidence of old guys and kids being "playful", cause from my studies so far I haven't heard about this practice, in my vipassana retreats I couldn't even look people in the eyes, much less touching, sucking tongue? :S

CNN makes entertaining content, don't they?! Some think it's fiction, some think it's non-fiction. I will give them props for entertainment, though.
