Why do carboinated beverages feel bad afterwards?

I am not talking about coke, I am talking about malt beverages for example, they are not that sweet but every time I drink them I feel a headache and loss of mental energy for an hour or so. I don't think it is related to sugar. I sometimes consume some products with sugar with no problem. I think it has to do with the carboniation itself. 

Anybody with the same experience?

It would make sens. It's CO2. Your body is wired to work off oxygen, turn it into CO2 and then excrete it. The CO2 in your bevrage doesn't just disapear. Your body absorbs it. CO2 is normally a waste product of human biology. 

Or something I don't know.

@Rigel Yeah maybe, I read it gets converted to carobinc acid and absorbed into the bloodstream, maybe this is the one causing the trouble

Gas Build up trapped in the gut can causes headaches and agitation. Everyone with IBS and other gas build up digestive issues goes through this. Release all the gas and the stress on the system reduces.

It could be some other ingredient. Phosphoric acid, or that quallia extract stuff that’s in root beer and crème soda, etc.
