Transgender carries out Christian school shooting

The way the right is demonizing transgender people through this tragedy disgusts me. I truly believe these are the beginnings of genocidal rhetoric.

Seriously, change these right wing comments from trans to Jew and it's irrily similar to comments from 1930s Germany.

How could they ever let a good tragedy go to waste? They wouldn’t be the Republican Party without it.

Well, if the left were intellectually honest, the fact that the shooter is trans makes it as much of their problem as the right, who is pro-gun.  This horrible event is a massive loss to all American people. Left or Right.  Blaming the right to be transphobic for the shooting is irresponsible.  Or blaming old fashion Christian values as an excuse for violence also isn't fair.

I've been a victim of hate crimes before; I don't go around hating the race of the group that hated on me.
The solution to reduce or end such horrendous crimes will take a lot of money and time to resolve because it will require people to invest in family and communities, something both left and right fail miserabily on.

We’re about to find out from the manifesto. The trans community is on high alert right now, especially in Tennessee. The transphobic rhetoric of the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene is only fueling genocidal tendencies.

@Tanz You are making a false equivalence here. The right's rhetoric in this instance is much more problematic than the left. Take one look at Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweet, you can't find anything remotely as hateful and factually incorrect said on the left.

Plus the Democrats have proposed legislation to limit assault weapons and to fund communities. The Republicans aren't proposing anything serious that will actually fix the problem.

@Pure Imagination I grew up as a minority, I was very well aware every time a minority did something bad that, it would lead to a particular perception from the public that is incorrect.  It's just human nature.

Taking guns away or limiting them is undoubtedly a solution, but at the same time, it could lead to resentment.  In these situations, rather than projecting our anxiety and frustrations on someone else on the left or right, it's better to look inside and admit our societal failures.  This person didn't have a loving enough environment, so they didn't have the compassion and common sense not to harm people.  The trans community failed to create a safe space for these individuals to work out society's angst against them.  The left has no problem funding a war while not funding things that can catch these types of people that fall thru the cracks.  If the left deems themselves more compassionate, their responsibility is much higher than those on the right who care about individual responsibility.

This problem is everyone's problem and a failure on our part not to build loving, compassionate communities.  These shootings are the backlash of a cold society.  Marjorie Taylor Greene might be part of the problem, but she exists because we aren't doing enough. Removing guns is a solution, but the real solution requires much more love, energy, and personal responsibility.

Even if we remove the gun from that person, they are still miserable, depressed, and suicidal.  How do we make sure those things don't happen?

I have enough faith in people to believe that people will randomly look for a trans person to assault because of a silly tweet.

This is pretty true for the most part. Left will not take accountability for the Transgender ideology part, and the right will not take accountability for more looser gun controls and legal processing and access to firearms. The Progressive/socialist/communistic ideology confounded and confused this shooter, and the more right leaning laws around gun regulation in Nashville allowed this person easier access to these firearms. Both left and right are in blame mode, the right pouncing on and capitalizing on hating trans more, and the left on defensive mode deflecting.

How did progressive ideology confound and confuse the shooter?

It didn't, but the failure is not acting out of compassion and love when the left calls itself the kind, loving side.  True love requires sacrifice; it requires patients; it requires time, and money.  If the shooter were my child, I would take responsibility for it by acknowledging my failure killed my child and 6 others.  I would not blame the problem on the gun, the school, or the ideology of that school.

On the side of the left, why isn't there funding for therapists for trans people?  Couldn't we spend 300 million on therapists for trans around the entire country? We just sent 100 billion overseas to another country.  If the shooter had just made at least one friend or one ear for them to be heard, then the act of violence could have been prevented.  The film The Joker was so brilliant because, as an audience member, you hope there could be at least one caring individual to embrace Arthur. Still, he had no one, and when the character finally broke and decided to take things into his own hands, he took society down with him.

Virtue signaling, group ideology, cancelling and censorship of critical thinking, reasoning, and research into if these are more group ideology versus being born an identity.

Well, this is one trans shooter in a sea of right-wing Incel shooters.

It's not surprising that at some point some trans will do shootings. After all, they tend to be badly bullied and they often have depression and mental health problems. It's somewhat surprising there have not been more trans shooters given the lack of love they receive.

People like Trump will take advantage of overlooked groups as long as the left doesn't acknowledge its failures and the shadows of society that get outsourced to chaos. Andrew Tate is another one that takes advantage.

Implementing Universal Healthcare and funding social support for broken families and mental health will be a good start.

There is no moral justification for murdering.

Make a distinction between analyzing someone’s personal history and psychology (SD Orange) and judging the righteousness of their actions (SD Blue). It’s wrong to murder (Blue). Period. The Bible tells us so too- thou shall not murder. Whomever is preaching to Christians about murder is a false prophet whom the Bible says will suffer.

?? Absolutely. Not even comparable

Is it really not comparable at all? Both this 28 year old trans person is a mass school shooter, and the majority of Incels are mid to late 20's, white and are mass school shooters. Both this trans person has likely suffered cyber bullying or other forms of bullying in school, and most incel right wingers who become mass school shooters have a shared background of being bullied in other forms. So, are these not really comparable?

@Danioover9000

my morals are stage blue morals. Murdering is wrong because that’s the Truth.

for someone who is stage red morally maybe it’s good to kill because it feels good.

“Everything is relative” is not practical when it comes to morality in my opinion. Stage green morality is chaos.

@Leo Gura There's several reasons why there isn't many trans shooters.

1: Trans people typically make up less than 1% of the population. We're pretty rare in the wild.

2: You have to do great deal of personal development and character building to have a successful transition, goings through the aches of pains of a changing body, psyche and people treating you differently than before, both positive and negative. In my own experience it's like a spiritual awakening and rebirth at the same time. School shooters typically aren't well developed people and more often than not they're cisgender men with no healthy coping mechanisms for their mental problems.

3: Bigots already hate us without any reason, we're normally smart enough to not give them one.

What's practical has little to do with truth.

Of course. But given that trans are much more suicidal than normies, that should balance things out a bit.

This makes no sense because many trans are suicidal.

Obviously the successful trans will not want to shoot up a school. Just like a successful normie will not either. It's people who hate themselves that do it. A lot of trans people suffer from self-hate.

@Leo Gura Well, that's true we do have a high suicide and suffer a lot from self hatred. The difference is the hatred is more internalised than external.

Take a look at this way, the right has pushing this anti-trans narrative for years now, calling us groomers and all sorts of nasty things I won't repeat here. When you see public figures and celebrities jumping on the bandwagon, exaggerating how "woke" and "snowflakey" we are and you see politicians pushing forward laws that intend to push us away from public life, on top of that you already have gender dysphoria and may have family or friends that disowned you for being transgender, of course you're start hating yourself.
