SELF IMPROVEMENT vs SELF ACCEPTANCE in shadow work

He doesn't talk about the anima animus directly but I think it is the same subject.

Self acceptance = anima = role of the mother (teaching the child self acceptance)

Self improvement = animus = role of the father (teaching the child self improvement)

What do you guys think?
