If you want to get rid of neediness you have to give up on yourself and identity

7 posts in this topic

The ego likes to engage self doubt and insecurity because it makes it feel safe, anything that is not within its knowledge and control could be dangerous or disadvantageous, neediness is the desire to correct this insecurity, but if you need anything theres nothing to be insecure about you can just authentically act and trust that things will work out by working on yourself

Precisely why you are needy, insecure is because you give up on yourself and look somewhere else to satisy you, precisely because you dont know yourself and dont have a strong sense of identity you are lost and dont have game...

The same part of the ego that makes you insecure because you give up on yourself is the same one writing this thread to keep you stuck...

This thread is like digging dipper into your own hole...feeding that part of mind to go deeper next time..

How can you work on yourself in this way ?

Getting rid of neediness is not a contemplative exercise.

It's not a spiritual exercise of transcending "the ego".

Neediness is a childhood feeling that lingers into adulthood if certain forms of care are not adequately given by parents during sensitive years.

The way to get rid of it is to grieve and shed tears about unfulfilled childhood needs during a therapeutic process, which can take a few years.

There's many methods to catalyze that therapeutic process, but having insights about it and contemplating it certainly doesn't solve it.

Learn to resolve trauma. Together.
