Gold Dental Fillings are they Toxic?

5 posts in this topic

Im looking to find out if gold fillings are toxic and if they should be removed.

My GF went to a dentist and they told her its the highest quality filling anyone can have and even if we wanted to they would refuse to remove them because its a crime to remove such a rare perfect filling. ?

If it's truly pure gold, that's fine.

But most dental work is not pure gold, it's a mix of various lesser metals.

Correct, quick Google search shows that it is always a mix of various metal alloys, which makes it "dental gold". The high-noble alloys can include palladium, copper, zinc, silver and platinum. The non-noble alloys, if used, can include chromium, nickel, cobalt and iron:

You know to not go to a normal dentist to have metal fillings removed right? I think they're called biological dentists that have a setup to keep the removal from exposing you to the metal.
