Sneakiness and devilry in geopolitics

2 posts in this topic

This lecture seems to me to be a stage yellow analysis of the arab spring (referring to an alleged set of pro-democratic revolutions among arab nation states). And I think its a great example of the sneakiness and devilry involved with survival agendas; here playing out at the international level.

Imo,  the lecture shows a perspective on how nation states will hide survival agendas behind legitimising rhetoric, how media can completely misunderstand conflicts, how non-systemic attitudes can lead to humanitarian crises, and much more.

Notice how even the presenting of a conflict as a 'revolution' rather than a 'civil war', in the case of the recent Libya conflict, can be seen to be the result of a nation state wanting to legitimise its survival agenda. Sneaky stuff.
