Hard Work

7 posts in this topic

I'm at the beginning of a new period in my life where I have to work really hard. That means that I need to study hard, meditate daily,do affirmations daily, learn to program well,do NoFap and focus a bit more on socializing.I realized that I'll either do the things above,or I'll live a miserable, disappoint every important person to me,fall into depression again and so on..

The question is..How will hard working transform me as a person? It might sound silly because the usual answer is that I'll be a stronger person and blah blah..But I am interested in hearing other people's stories that went through such times as I am going trough now.I have problems with motivation to push forward, and I want some hope that I'm not doing this in vain.I don't have a life purpose yet, because is hard to find one right now..I'm 17 by the way..

So..What's your story?

Hey, @Ryan_047 I'm Aamir. I'm a student from London that's also 17, I'm a student just like you and currently have a life purpose and a relatively large amounts of habits running at the moment: I Meditate, motivate myself or use discipline, eat healthy, do exercise and also manage school work.

Doing the hard work to form these habits has dramatically changed my life, and I thank the mentors that I've had in this life for that as well as myself. It has transformed me into a more happy, confident, authentic, joyful, less stressed guy with a meaningful purpose. If there was one piece of advice I could give you it would be to use discipline to also transform your life and ensure you stick to your path and purpose when you find it.

watch this video and learn from it!

I believe in you!

Age 17-21 was a shitty period for me personally.  I was so unconscious and dumb that it hurts to look back on the memories.  I never felt shitty at the time...but just looking back now, wow!  I am also thankful in a way that they were shitty though because I learned quiet a lot of stuff.

It was around the age of 23 when I stumbled on Leos videos while smoking a joint.  I had previously watched the Planet Earth series and was taken away by life...and I wanted to learn more.  I eventually got an interest in Buddhism then stumbled upon Leo.  Since then I just stuck to watching Leos video every couple of days.  They honestly helped me grow.  No work involved.  I became addicted to watching these videos, I loved the concepts Leo was throwing at me, concepts which I had never heard of before.

Don't rush this man. One step at a time. Also try focus on not thinking negatively about your future.  The more you think positive things about your future the more positive it will be.  The same way the more you want something the more you will get it.

@Ryan_047 I just simply saved up my money that I earned from working at a fast food takeout. Then purchased Leo's life purpose course, my life purpose is to illustrate that the limitations of society don't exist and to inspire others to learn this too and achieve their life purposes, so I'll be someone like Leo. But I also want to attain enlightenment, and master my physique like Bruce Lee by mastering his martial art. Also, I want to become a sage at a later stage of my life. But  Remember, Leo said you can have multiple life purposes, so that's why I have so many, but currently as I am a student I am pursuing the first one I had mentioned.

If you don't have enough money to purchase it, then take 100% responsibility for your life and save up and buy it as it's an investment into your future.

But, whilst you don't have that at the moment, I would highly recommend watching this video, as it greatly helped a student like me get motivated to study, so I'm sure it will help you too.

Good luck finding your life purpose, and stay true to your path!

Why do you discount this?

Self-discipline and hard work do make you a stronger person. It makes you Mt. Fuji in a storm, sitting firm and in tact. Instead of a crumpled up little leaf blowing in the wind...feeling like a victim to your circumstances, depressed, with nothing.

That's kind of a big deal.

People discount what they consider to be "cliche," but a lot of living by a lot of different people went into the making of that cliche.

nothing is anything

Don't think about what other people think, they probably love you. You're losing energy thinking about some of the stuff you mentioned. Use all your energy for what you want. If your thoughts stray, meditate daily. Write what you want to accomplish on the wall, and write as many WHY's next to each as you can think of. Get your prefocus game going. Empty your room out, then make it an environment that primes you toward what you want. You get what you think about. Your thinking and how you feel are the most important thing, - choices are made from here. Attitude is everything, and yours is currently not pointed in the same direction as what you want to accomplish. Start making lists about why you want what you want. Focus on it. Hard work will also do all of this for you.
