The Difference Between Belief & Truth?

6 posts in this topic

Thought-provoking questions:

Is the difference between belief & truth intuition?

How does one distinct between these two?

What are the reasonings people have given as to why belief is used in our psyche?

Why is belief not the same as truth?

What makes a belief a belief, as apposed to a truth?

What districts a belief from anything else?

How does a belief function?

How does truth function?

How does belief & truth function differently in the mind?

What makes something untrue?

What makes a belief untrue?

belief is what you got from the outside, either seen or heard

truth is what you get from the inside

nobody can tell you the truth since words are inadequate

meditation is the act of abiding in awareness so as to reveal the truth

@gettoefl  I would be wary of not consider something that comes from within a belief. Regardless of whether or not it’s true. It is easy to misunderstand the truth and thus hold false beliefs.

There is nothing wrong with holding spiritual beliefs. Bonus points if the happens to actually reflect reality. And even if the don’t but make you happy thats great to.

Belief and truth are related, but they are not the same thing. Belief refers to an acceptance that something is true or real, without necessarily having proof or evidence. Truth, on the other hand, refers to something that is based on facts and can be proven to be accurate.

meditation imparts insight, some of these are rehashing beliefs and some are gold gems ... truth does not arrive gift wrapped when you sit down, it takes your blood sweat tears; you will have to dissolve the meditator you believed yourself to be and bring source to the forefront
