My Closest Lover

So hard to let you go, wherever I have gone and been through you were there,

You always were on my side, always showing you care,

You challenged me, you cried with me, you pushed me through and through,

You were so close to me I forgot who was actually who, 

We were one and the same for so long, parting was the scariest thing I could do,

Separation from you was death, but it also was liberation, 

No more getting lost in contemplation, or stacks of story compilations,

Finding the truth for me has been the highest of my elations,

Who knew this day had to come, that it ultimately had to be this way,

Who knew that you had been lying to me with every word you say,

My closest ally, was my greatest adversary, employed by me from the very beginning,

And once I awaken to this fact then in the game of life I start winning,

Because the point of the game was to awaken that I was the game,

This game is love, I'm the child, I'm both father and mother, and I'm the closest lover.
