Close-Knit Subcultures in the U.S.

What are some loving close-knit subcultures in the U.S.? Something I find missing in the U.S. is that sense of community, the only sub-culture I've found with it is the rock climbing community, anyone found any others?

 

I guess a church, or temple.

I found the Mormon community to be helpful. I'm a part of that community now. LDS church. 

I joined the LDS church solely for the community appeal.

I'd be careful. Cults are always helpful initially...
