I'm just one person out of billions of people so why even have a life purpose?

41 posts in this topic

@NightHawkBuzz Because life is fucking boring without one.

Also most people on this planet are either too dumb or don’t have the facilities to live with one. So if you have the choice to do so you better do it, its a privilege to even have a choice about what to do with your life.

Its your duty to enjoy your life.

That's like saying, "Why eat, since there are 8 billion stomachs in the world?"

Maybe so, but the only empty stomach that you feel is yours.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

You have the potential to become different from everyone else and better than everyone else. The problem is that there's literally no reason to do it except for the fun of it. Use fun as your compass.

I left this forum because a moderator has a problem with me talking positively about myself and giving advice. This reflects the forum as a whole. This place is negative, bitter, hateful and anti success. If you don't notice this that's because you're one of them. I hope some of you benefited from my posts. Take care.

@Leo Gura

I agree it still feels like though even if I was to find my life purpose that’s just one purpose out of billions of people. Like my purpose still isn’t really that significant because it’s only one purpose out of billions of people.

Like one persons success in life is still just one persons success out of billions of people.

   So what? Make yourself useful, and make your LP exciting and passionate! MAKE IT MEANINGFUL TO YOU!!! Stop with this doomer Nihilist mentality. So what if it's billions of others? That's like saying "So what if there's billions of potential GFs? I know one who might become my GF one day, but what's the point? It's meaningless the pursue a relationship!". Okay, since you are so beta passive aggressive, can I screw your GF in front of you? Is that enough to get yourself out of your head for once and into your heart and balls?

It's not about fame or notoriety, it's about your peace and joy. Your peace is your piece(the 'difference' you make).

One question about that:

Did your life Purpose changed when you realized yourself as absolutely sovereign god?

I would assume your life Purpose would have been a little culturally conditioned before that happened.

At least that's what I noticed.

Also, you sometimes made the me get the notion that God realization would weaken the gravitational pull towards a more materialistic life Purpose such as women, building a beautiful space, or not having to think about money any more.

In my perspective I can choose whatever materialistic goal I find deeply desirable and the entire universe wants it too.

So there has not really been a decrease in materialistic desires, but a more conscious increase. By that I mean, I see how I potentially harm others around me with that approach. But at the end of the day, harming others a little while embodying my deepest desires seems legit to myself as God.

Having a purpose is overrated, if you never try to succeed at anything, you can never fail! If you never fail, you win by default!

I feel like life is pointless because I'm just one person out of billions of people. Like if I'm just one person then why should I try to have a life purpose? If my life really doesn't matter that much why should I even try to find a purpose in life.

It just feels like all of this really doesn't matter because the world will go on without me and any one person so I don't understand the point of trying. I don't understand the point of having a life purpose because even if I do I'm still just one person.

I just feel like this doesn't matter at all because I'm just one person and even if I have a life purpose it won't change that fact.

What if you were the only human on earth? Would that make you feel better?

@Stovo

I don't know if that would make me feel better. I don't know how things should be in life but I know they shouldn't be like this. I shouldn't be just one person out of billions of people. I shouldn't be so unimportant and small to the world. Even if I was to have and find a life purpose it still shouldn't just be one purpose out of billions of people.

I don't know how things should be in life but I know they shouldn't be like this.

Do you think one person in the world being loving and joyful would be unimportant? Imagine knowing someone like that personally, they're not famous but imagine how that would affect the people he encounters, and then those people affect the people they encounter. That's an everlasting effect.

Wow Infinity is definitely interesting, this thought process would have never even crossed my mind.

You are a selfless LACK OF APPEARANCE, that CONSTRUCTS AN APPEARANCE. But that appearance can disappear and reappear and we call that change, we call it time, we call it space, we call it distance, we call distinctness, we call it other. But notice...this appearance, is a SELF. A SELF IS A CONSTRUCTION!!!

So if you want to know the TRUTH OF THE CONSTRUCTION. Just deconstruct the construction!!!! No point in playing these mind games!!! No point in creating needless complexity!!! The truth of what you are is a BLANK!!!! A selfless awareness....then that means there is NO OTHER, and everything you have ever perceived was JUST AN APPEARANCE, A MIRAGE, AN ILLUSION, IMAGINARY.

Everything that appears....appears out of a lack of appearance/void/no-thing, non-sense (can't be sensed because there is nothing to sense). That is what you are, and what arises...is made of that. So nonexistence, arises/creates existence. And thus everything is solved.

To me, that's not the best counter argument to convince or persuade a Nihilist, or if that's not the specific goal, the other is that isn't sufficient to deconstructing their argument for a life that's pointless or meaningless, by expecting one question to upend their entire argument, because you can ask 'What's the alternative?' and I can also retort back 'well, what's NOT the alternative?', see?

No I don't see it, he can either have a life Purpose and a vision, and do the things he wants to do, or not.

The alternative is... not having that what I listed and ironically blending in with those billions of people he's talking about, because the alternative is a dead end job, so you'll fit right in.

free souls' or maybe 'free spirited', but that's insufficient to argue back the Nihilist because you're assuming that he's also as much of a 'free soul' as you are, yet he also could be the opposite, a 'trapped soul'

I'm assuming that yes and if he doesn't resonate with that, nobody gets hurt...

if that's the case, then what is he, or you to be precise, particularly built for? Communism? Progressivism? Socialism? Liberalism? Anarchism? Libertarianism? Centrism? Modernism? Conservatism? Traditionalism? Nationalism? Also, if not built for work, then built for what? To not work? To do nothing? To be the cart pulled by horses?

You're overanalyzing it (and the rest) I was trying to be semi inspirational I guess, you don't have to break down every sentence I said. I'm getting lost in thought just reading it.

I actually like you, @Danioover9000 so no hard feelings. If you're hot we can talk. I've got maybe 15-20% gay in me.

You are clearly uninspired and lacking vision.

the option of working a miserably stressful job until your 65 so you have time to die after retiring and wasting your life is ALWAYS AN OPTION. In fact it’s the most common choice.

Nobody is necessarily saying you SHOULD have a life purpose but it sure seems like the better option.

You are creating all these emotions, I think firstly the best place to start is recognizing this.

Replace “I feel” with “I believe.”

I can tell you now, I believe you have value and that recognizing this your life will change in a very positive way.

@Adodd

I'm uninspired and lacking vision because I know even if I have a purpose in life that purpose is still just ONE purpose out of so many other purposes that other people have,

For example you can take any successful person in this world Justin Bieber, Donald Trump, Michael Jordan, Connor McGregor etc. Their success is still just one person's success out of billions of people and they all are just one person.

Out of all that they have accomplished each of their life purpose's is still just ONE purpose out of so many other purposes that other people have.

@NightHawkBuzz I wouldn’t include trump on that list but here’s the thing, yes you’re one out of billions, but again, you have two options.

1.Live an impactful, passionate and happy life.

2. Don’t

that’s it. Those are you’re two only options, now which seems more attractive?

Of course it doesn’t MATTER. One day the sun will explode and the entire solar system will be gone. It will one day be as if every person, every war, every poem or piece of art, never even existed in the first place. This isn’t depressing or unmotivating unless your looking at it wrong. Even though it obviously doesn’t all matter in a billion years it does matter NOW. And somehow or another you have been given the greatest blessing imaginable… to exist. Think about how much of a blessing it is to exist before it’s all gone. You can use this time to passionately explore the world or sit on the couch and work dead end jobs. Neither choice matters and the choice is yours. But! This is your only shot and you won’t exist forever. Don’t waste it. Even though it doesn’t ultimately matter.
