Funny video: guy hovers cursor over map and changes dialects (in Norwegian)

There is this thing about Norway that two people who live in different parts of the country will often have big problems understanding each other.

This video only shows the coastal dialects. The midland ones are even wackier, trust me 

The guy is doing a great job according to my ears, and I definitely know more dialects than the average Norwegian . For you non-Norwegians, even if it sounds like gibberish, does it sound different in different places? Does it even sound like the same language?

Sounds a bit like German to me. Maybe related languages. I tried hard learning Norwegian when I had a Norwegian boyfriend to impress him, failed, it's a hard language to me.

@Carl-Richard okay umm, the middle of the video I felt like it was drawn out heavy. The end of the video it was a bit sloppy, light and free flowing. 

That's all I could make out in terms of accent.

Haha. I have the Bergen dialect by the Westernmost coast. It's one of the most hated dialects  I personally think the Stavanger dialect is the worst one. One of my teachers in middle school had it and I would imitate it all the time

Maybe you could try singing in these different dialects and record a video of it on your YouTube. With your guitar/ukulele.

I'll make a full instrumental song before I ever decide to start singing  I'm planning to do that this Christmas. I have like 12 years of guitar ideas on a hard drive from like 3 different phones. Even so, I've probably lost 50% of all my recordings (I remember feeling particular sad about it one time).

How did you lose it though?

If you ever plan to sing, choose a nice soft rhythmic song (like a lullaby type), so I can sit on a swing and swing to it peacefully.

I'm sorry. That's really sad. A lot of hard work disappeared. That can be a disappointing experience. 

Usually what I do is, if I have something really personal I will store in a hard drive, 

I just took a picture of my red hard drive. I bought it for $120. It's actually a super expensive hard drive. And I store my personal hobby related stuff into it. It's like 1 TB. You can even connect it to your phone using a micro USB connector/drive. 

That way you don't lose any personal data.

One essay on complex traumas and one research paper on self-reported religiosity of Norwegian psychology students. It's basically all done. 28 hours until due date. I thought my essay on systems thinking last year would be my magnum opus, but I might be wrong
