@The Crocodile i have been doing research on criminal psychology lately. I am trying to get into the minds of deeply depraved people who engage in evil acts like some notorious criminals. I'm starting to get a better understanding of domestic abusers who commit assault. I am somewhat beginning to understand child sex abusers and rapists. I have a very hard time understanding mass shooters who break into schools and murder 30 children. I looked into their psychology and some of them just seem genuinely insane and stupid.

As I understand the psychology behind these people and how their life story might play out to lead to these decisions, my judgement and moral righteousness begins to weaken.

For example, when I was stuck in an abusive situation, it caused me to develop suicidal thoughts because it gave me a sense of control over my suffering. This is a common trauma response, but it is not the only possible trauma response. Some people become homicidal, some people grow up to abuse power dynamics over children, some people like my stepfather become domestic abusers to seek control and power, some people use sexual violence to establish a sense of power and control and target minors because they are easy to manipulate, some people like my father join gangs to extort people while protecting themselves from other gangs thus giving them power, and some people like my mother turn to drug addiction or alcoholism. All of these things could be linked to trauma and are extremely harmful. depending on how someone reacts it can lead to their lives in a variety of horrible directions. It makes me wonder if my rape fantasies are linked to my unhealthy relationship with control and power.

Initially I looked at the child kidnapper getting caught with dirty pleasure thinking "he is getting what he deserved." I can now look back at the situation thinking "I understand why you might do this, but your actions are harmful and you must be stopped for your own good and for the good of others." This attitude is more non-judgmental and higher conscious bringing me to inner peace rather than to dirty pleasure.

I still think school shooters are insane because they "just feel like killing people." I somewhat understand war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity, but it doesn't make them any less terrifying. Those people still seem insane to me. Maybe these people really are insane because their worldviews are incoherent and based on many lies. Sometimes they seem genuinely stupid and crazy. I guess if they genuinely believe these things, then it would explain why they did it though. This was part of a model story for why someone becomes a mass shooter.

People explore darkness because it's a part of reality that exists, like a territory on a map. Somebody could do that by murder, torture, hatred, anger, disconnection from others, the occult dark side of the force, terrorism, molesting children--anything that has a tendency of polarizing towards negativity and service to self rather than positivity and service to others. Certain cases of child rape or whatever, pedophilia--it could be analogous to your own sexuality for women. Your sexuality for women is insatiable and inviolable in some way, where of course you have to have it as part of your identity and expression, with you trying to satisfy it. If somebody has that for children, because of whatever reasons of nature and nurture, then think about it, how for them it is also similar to your attraction women in that it is a strong pull or desire, and if they don't want to express or do anything with it, it is like if you were never able to express or do anything with your attraction to women at all. Which is why child rape exists, because rape and children exist, well, then the combination also exists.

Your fantasies of rape are indeed related to power dynamics, energetic blockage and then insatiable hunger due to the blockage. When there are two people who are like this but in opposite ends, you get BDSM, one person experiencing the pleasure of humiliation and slavery, or bondage, the other experiencing the pleasure of mastery and control over another person. In this way a sexual intelligence happens differently then the normal positive open loving-and-caring warmth or sweetness or whatever.

Also "stupid and insane" is not a reason to not empathize.

You should learn to empathize with stupidity, and learn what stupidity even is.

You should learn to empathize with insanity, and delve into insanity.

I've gotten pretty addicted to these cop bodycam videos. I've seen thousands of them. Bodycams are truly revolutionary for policing. They not only changed the way cops operate, as every movement they do is viewed, therefore they have to be on their very best behavior. But also we get a glimpse into the shit they have to deal with on a daily basis. Honestly these videos completely changed the way I look at cops. I used to hate them. Now I have the highest respect for them.

If you watch enough of these videos you begin to see patterns. To me, beyond the cases where people are insane, it seems like the majority of incidences could be avoided if people just had an understanding of how policing works. Like knowing standard police procedures would keep so many interactions from escalating. For instance, a police officer does have the right to have you step out of a car if they deem they have cause. If you're cool with them, they'll be cool with you. Just because they detain you, to do an investigation, does not mean you're under arrest. And just because you are under arrest, does not mean you are convicted of any crimes. Alot of cases get thrown out by either the prosecution or the judge. So if people just go with the flow with police, they'll be just fine. If people resist, they're only making things hard on themselves for no reason. Which is 80% of the videos I've seen.
