Then get the heck out the car, it's that simple. Now, he's locked up for murder.

I agree he should've just got out the car he was testing them too much, however, like what Leo said, I don't think there were any imminent signs of aggression that warranted that level of tasing.

The average person does not understand tasers, all they feel is immense pain and their body seizing up, 3 rounds of that would put anyone into retaliation mode, you'd be stupid not to defend yourself.

In many countries police arrest without any violence and cops don't die either. I wonder why.

Cultural differences for sure. Individualism vs Collectivism produces different levels of conformity. Plenty of other factors as well. More authoritarian and corrupt a government is, the bigger the punishment for lack of conformity too.

Very well then....

I'll respect that.

I was just trying to warn others on here as a concerned citizen of America and I still think that there needs to be a much greater discussion about the future.

If I had a magic wand I would unalive all the people who behave violently towards others, who shit on the sovereignity of others, who give zero fucks about the lives of others, who are here only to prey and to exploit the defenseless people, I would anihilate everyone who does harm to others who steals or violate the life of any being be it animal or human. I would unalive all their offsprings aswell because I've never seen a garbage human birth a child that didn't inherit all their genetic devilry from their father. Those people have no right to be on this earth. NONE. Devils place is in hell not here on earth.
And before you say that what I advocate makes me a garbage human too, I HAVE NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE done wrong to anybody on this earth. NONE. I've been living my life with the upmost consideration of other's soveregnity since I was in kindergarden. And I truly despise and I wish death and anihilation to anybody doing evil. I wish all the devils that is about time that THE VILE CREATURES RECEIVE THEIR JUST REWARD!!!!!

I would dropped a bomb.  But i dont think they will do it again.

I have watched like 50 hours of police arrest videos. 98% of the time the police are professional and kind to an extreme. Of course there are a few bad apples, but the videos speak for themselves.

This thread and these videos are not about defending or attacking police. This is an apolitical topic.

Actually, we are the ones killing police.

I support rooting out corruption anywhere it is found, including inside the police. But otherwise I support giving the police better tools and support for doing their job. I will not engage in any kind of demonization of the police. The police are more surveiled than any other public servant, so I don't know what your gripe is. I suggest you don't politicize this issue.

When I share videos in this thread it is not for political purposes.

My "gripe" is in genuinely trying to understand why a skeptical and critical person like you is so lax with the police and sees the corruption of the police as merely incidental and not systematic.

Mind you I come from a bit of a lefty-conspiracy type of environment and I'm trying to correct course on that with proper epistemology and research. You work has been an amazing resource for this, and your epistemology is very clean; that's why it surprised me that you are not as skeptical of the police as you are on Israel and the finance world for example. I was raised to be skeptical of the police because they have a monopoly on violence, meaning the public should have an inherent distrust of them from the get go. I don't really see how this logic is wrong since we have seen many examples of police abusing their power en masse. But like I said I'm trying to find truth and that's why I asked you why you think what you think.

How many weeks of training would learning martial arts require?

It's a hard question to answer, as many factors come into play.

If there is a tailored program for policing, meaning you do a state funded project to identify the needs of the police department with the existing martial arts training and the military, it can be done in 6 months via 4 trainings a week.

However, if that doesn't happen and they don't wanna take responsability for making that program but take already existing martial arts systems. My advice would be purple jiu-jitsu belt which depends on the person but roughly it takes about 5 years to acquire. So yeah a major drawback in time, becaue jiu-jitsu does take time to build up the skills enough to translate them into the policing domain. Blue belt may be enough but with a bigger stronger crazier opponent you're still doomed. Purple belt is very solid and in the policing domain you'll be able to takedown and keep ground control of almost all oponents. The problem with the non-tailored-program approach is that you'll be learning lots of useful stuff that won't apply for your job and that takes quite some time away.

Edit afterthoughts: I've been contemplating it and around 2 and a half years of MMA would be more than enough as well but it's injure prone and honestly I wouldn't like police officers to be trained in such a way. It's too deadly and complete, you can really hurt citizens with those skills. Jiu-jitsu is safer and effective with great values and a nice sense of community.

So my recommendation still holds but regarding training time and already existing systems, MMA would be most effective for policing uncooperative criminals.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty. We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Virtuous and Conscious. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life God is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, ... Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

There is some degree of systemic corruption and bias within the police as well. But in my view this is normal, expected, and within reasonable range.

Do police protect their own too much? Yes, that is a problem. However, it's also understandable why -- because their jobs are truly dangerous and difficult unlike almost any other job.

I give the police benefit of the doubt because they are necessary for securing peace and order, to protect us from psychopaths, lunatics, and total human scum.

Watching all this cam footage shows just how difficult their work is. So this gives me lots of empathy for their position.

I think that leftists and progressives are not appreciative enough of police because Green people in general are so idealistic and utopian that they do not understand the brutality of life and how to deal with stage Red people. I am in favor of strict punishment of serious crime and stupidity, because being too liberal here leads to serious problems.

I don't think that my view of police inhibits investgation of spots where they are corrupt.

I don't agree that the public should have an inherent distrust of police. This is not how a health society would be. We need to restore trust in police by making them as free of corruption as possible and as fair as possible. Working towards this goal would be the best big picture direction for society. In general I think the US legal system and police is one of the best and fairnest in the world. It's actually amazing how good the system is, considering how bad it is in most parts of the world and how difficult it is to design such a system.

I think what's needed are very practical solutions in this case, not hippie ideals, and not blanket skepticism or cynicism, because the stakes are so high. Because this is a matter of life and death.

I think the leftist position on policing is not sound, blinded by their zeal for social justice, their inexperience, and their naivete.

I think this position is practical, reasonable, and clean.

I have been watching a lot of cop videos lately. I noticed that sometimes I get a dirty sense of pleasure and happiness when I see someone getting what they deserved. Sometimes people act like animals and they squirm at every turn. I see this happening with child predators when they are caught in lie after lie only to assault a police officer. Is this dirty pleasure a problem?

As you watch these police cams it's a good test of consciousness, to see if you are able to resist the trap of moral righteousness and demonization.

The thing I like about the K9s is that at least once he bites into them no judge is there to soften the blow.

They can skip bail but the dog bite will remain seared into their mind.

All these DUI people need at least one good dog bite to teach them a lesson.

@Leo Gura what is your state of mind like when watching these videos? What kind of state are you aiming for? I have a hard time finding empathy and compassion for people like this.

I def get entertainment out of it. But it's also education and I am mindful of the trap of judging and blaming people. You can see a lot of blaming and demonizing in the comment sections under every video, which is low consciousness stuff.

Empathy has to be balanced against the depraved ways these people behave. You can have empathy but still enforce tough justice. Some people just need a dog to bite them to learn their lesson. Suffering is the best teacher.
