What Is Passion

Passion feels like it’s the only thing that drives me. It also feels like the biggest idiot in the world, never doing what makes sense, but rather chasing what is beautiful.

Then over time I come to see that what I had previously seen as only beauty was actually what made the most sense. But at the time I could not see why.
 

What is passion?

I don't know, but it seems like you can have two different types: towards and away. Maybe someone grows up poor and as a consequence has a deep passion for becoming rich - this is away. Maybe someone has an inate talent for music and so develops a passion for it - this is towards. Is passion just an obsessive interest, for example chasing beauty?
