He already has allowed Trump back on Twitter.

But here's a good analysis on that:

What's wrong with Destiny?

The guy is a bit too bitchy with twitter, and likes to go overboard with the race jokes and trans jokes, sometimes kid jokes and it's just not a good look for twitter or Twitch, probably why Twitch not only banned him but took their partnership down.

I think the reason Elon Musk wanted to buy Twitter is because he just  wanted to tweet. I mean this dude has been tweeting non stop past 7 hours.

I mean narcissists are like that. If they want to buy a carpet they can buy the whole store

My phone has been buzzing with Elon Musk notifications and I didn't even subscribe to this chimp.

Lmao. Even he should be able to understand that Apple also has the freedom to not advertise on a failing platform that may promote racism, pornography, and hate speech. Hes gaslighting them at this point

The whole point is that a social media platform must moderate content far beyond what is merely illegal.

In the same way that if you want to host a popular party, your party rules cannot simply be: anything legal goes. Your party must prohibit a bunch of stuff which is legal, but socially unacceptable, like bringing a dead skunk to the party.

In real life you cannot bring a skunk to a party because people will see your face, remember who you are, and blacklist you forever. But online, since most people are anonymous and have multiple accounts, this doesn't work. If you let people bring skunks, they will keep doing it and ruin every online party you ever throw. Thus you must ban such assholes. Because if they did that the real-world, they would be banned for simple indecency.

Musk's policy is effectively this: Let's allow everyone back to our party who has ever brought a skunk. Well, it's obvious that Musk doesn't understand how parties work.

To be clear, in your hypothetical, do you mean in your party the rule is to prohibit illegal activities? Have a rule to police illegal acts?

Never mind, I got the hypothetical that it's not illegal to bring a dead skunk, but it's morally and socially unacceptable to do so. So, as the leader/ruling group, you host that party and have to police the patrons not just for illegal activities, but also legal activities that are socially unacceptable, gotcha.

Is Elon Musk out of his mind or what? Freedom of speech includes advertising wherever you want to. If Apple doesn't want to advertise on Twitter, what is his problem with that? Crazy.

Twitter is not just Twitter now, is Twitter-Elon Musk, whether he likes it or not. He is also endorsing one political party over the other, which may be understandably a concern for some companies that want to appeal to everyone, not just conservatives.

Twitter is still working thanks to inertia, even with the previous and actual economical losses, but so many voices and ears were and are still there.

Brand deterioration is ultimately what Musk wants to avoid (other than burning 44B).

If he continues fumbling this Twitter acquisition that he got himself into, his brand will start to deteriorate; Telsa, Boring, SpaceX, etc.

He is the Tesla brand mascot, he's like Ronald McDonald except even more of a clown.  He is the mascot and that's part of the equation of why people buy his shit.  If Twitter flops tremendously, his other brands will deteriorate.  Who would want to drive around in the divorced guy's car who managed to fumble Twitter?  Less people.

Society's psychology will kill your business faster than actually burning money.  Investors ain't happy.

Elon is at war with Apple. Is it a genius move or a childish tantrum?

Twitter is growing, more people are signing than left, apparently. I believe it, people love drama and Elon is bringing much of that. But will they stay there for long once the drama gets old? Not so sure about that. He still will need to make a profit though.

No, I'm not sure at all, who knows... But Twitter ironically got quite interesting with all this drama, so it could be.

I did leave it though, but I'm one person. It's really a personal gain to leave those kind of social media for most people, certainly for me. The value they provide doesn't make up for the time they take from you. Twitter was successfully designed to be addictive. Not by Elon Musk, has to be said.

Lol.

What Musk will learn -- is what I learned from 7 years of moderating this forum -- is that people who cause the most trouble and get warnings NEVER correct their behavior, have no remorse, and will continue to sour your community if you give them 2nd and 3rd chances.

Which is why Musk's idea to unban all the banned Twitter accounts is the single worst idea he's ever had. All those people will return and simply double-down on their toxic posting. All those bans are what keep Twitter a place normies can tolerate visiting.

Twitter might also turn into a better place because of Elon. You can never tell. Banning Ye is one baby step.
