How to make more money online/at home ?

11 posts in this topic

Are there any REAL ways to make extra cash online/at home?

I currently work full time in a call center. but I'm seriously struggling in every way possible financially. I'm lucky if I eat one good meal a day because all my money goes toward bills and debts every month. .

I need to get a part time job but my schedule makes it very difficult to find anything.

I was looking into investment  in the stock market  but that's really not my thing unless I can be completely  be anonymous. I've looked into data entry jobs, those stupid (and obviously fake) survey things, but no luck. I can't make and sell things on etsy because I don't ever have enough money for materials, which aren't even guaranteed to sell. I don't have any talents I can use to make money

Does anyone have  extra cash online? If so, what did you do ?

Thank you ?

my mind is gone to a better place.  I'm elevated ..going out of space . And I'm gone .

It depends on what you can offer to the market, the more unique the skill the more you can get paid. Remote work, has over the pandemic been accelerated by 10 year margin so most international large companies actually don't mind employing people all over the world. Polish your LinkedIn profile and look around what else there is.

Other than being an employee the only other way is to be your own boss, which as someone who is trying to do that is about 50 times harder than being employed because you are the service provider, the marketer, the accountant, the customer support, the sales person, the content creator and the IT person at the same time. It is hard, frustrating, ungratifying and stressful. But if it works, it buys you freedom.

Technically you could also become a consultant/contractor and charge a premium for doing short-term works. For that you need to become good at networking and build up some skills but if you can get in and bet contracted by a big corpo you are going to be swimming in cash. The company I work for full-time pays contractors up to 3000 dollars a day. And to be frank they don't work as hard and lot of them seem actually quite useless and the internals often end up cleaning their mess.

Some investing is always an option but unless you have spare 20-50K it is going to take A LOT of time and skill  to get something back

So ultimate @Someone here the question come down to:

  1. What can you offer to the market?
  2. What do you want to do?
  3. If you need unique skills but do not have them, what could you do to get them?

This is the only way to make a conscious living. To be proud of the work you do by offering a superior value. Or jump on some crypto scheme but that ship might have sailed a long time ago for people with low capital.

Learn a skill and sell that skill to someone.

Since you are already in front of a computer.

These skills could be:

Internet Marketing & SEO

Web design & development

UI/UX Services

E-commerce / Selling a product / Arbitraging

Creating a blog, generating traffic and profit off of ad display

Just learn a skill that has a deep pain point and sell it ultimately.

So basically developing a skill and present my services into the market ? Or selling a product ?

I lean towards selling products through online marketplace such as Amazon, Alibaba, eBay, Shopee, etc. can i sell either my own products or other people’s products through dropshipping arrangement?  I want to write a philosophy book and sell it online...how do I go about doing that ?

Please guys be patient with me because I lack experience.  I have zero expertise in online marketing so can you explain to me in simple steps what EXACTLY should I do ?

I would love to list so many businesses that can generate massive income and can earn me a bunch of money..

Yes, you can drop ship in Amazon. But, to start selling products, you must first develop the skill of sale.

Selling on Amazon, for example, requires you to know Amazon FBA rules and regulations. It also requires funds and the willingness to lose money initially. Selling a product can be somewhat harder to do if you don't have any marketing or sales foundation. However, you can always arbitrage and buy something for cheaper and sell it for a higher price elsewhere. Example: Buy product off Ebay (loser price) -> Re-sell it on Walmart (higher price).

However, I highly recommend any courses on Youtube about marketing, search engine optimization, traffic generation and copywriting. As well as websites creation and design. Since, selling a product requires a little of each. When you build up so much core skill, you will inevitably start making money online. Your mind will be filled with so much opportunity, but you can only stick with one.

I'm very confident in you.

Selling services or information is infinitely better than selling products. No shipping, no storage and overhead costs, no upfront investment.

Spend a couple of weeks learning a basic skill and then start selling your expertise.

There's like an infinite number of ways to make money online. If you can't find them, you're either looking in the wrong places or not asking the right questions.

If you want to generate massive income (ethically & legally) you need to provide massive value. And in order to do that you need to posess unique skills that market values - building those takes years so this is not a quick-cash advice.

But it doesn't stop there. You need to figure out how to sell your skills, how to market yourself, how to spread the word and generate attention. Without it, even the the best and the smartest is going to go hungry and broke because they'll be trampled over by an army of teenagers doing Reels and making millions of dollars, stealing all the eyeballs. That's unfortunately the reality of this world if you wanna do online business. There is other ways ofcourse such as going into academia, getting a standard 9-5 job etc.

But if you wanna go solo, create a product, market it and make a living, you need to join the marketing hoard online in one way or another to generate attention. Btw this is not coming from direct experience, I very much struggle to do this myself so once I figure it out I'll let you know :D

Perhaps you should give yourself some time to reflect on these questions every day. A journaling habit can help you do that. Reflect on these things while you are still young and (I assume) without kids, mortgage and that sort of stuff.

  1. Choose a group of people with a common characteristic that you can easily find 100 of. It helps if they are related to an interest of yours
  2. Have in-depth conversations with 15-30 of them and find out what their secret deepest fear or problem is
  3. Create conceptually a solution to that problem that will actually help them (be it a book, an e-book, a physical product, a workshop, a course, you teaching them something, an accountability group, an app, a website, a service, a platform, whatever will work that you can make happen)
  4. Verify that they would pay for it
  5. Tell the first 100 about it, get them to buy it from you.
    1. If they don't, learn why not and fix that
  6. Learn from feedback by people who bought it, and make it better
  7. Tell the next 100 about it.

@Someone here these are the steps. Hope that's simple enough for you.

I'm still working through them. The difficulty is not in the complexity of the steps, it's staying the course and doing every step properly without getting distracted into side tangents that is mentally tough.

Some reading material for you:

  • Russel Brunson's "Secrets" series, 3 books
  • MJ DeMarco's 3 books

Though you technically don't really need to read any of them, if you can just keep focusing on executing those steps and solving every problem along the way with resourcefulness and grit.

Also, this doesn't necessarily have to be done through online marketing at all. At least not until you're no longer happy making 6 figures and you want to make millions.

Stupid example: you like philosophy. You know where a bunch of philosophy students go to school. You drop by and buy 20 of them individually a couple beers/coffees in exchange for talking to you for an hour, call it a research project. Should take about 3 weeks max. You find out: most of them are terrified that they won't get into a respected career position with their philosophy degree. You call up the university and ask them for a couple of names of their philosophy students who did really well in life. You call up those successful motherfuckers, ask them what they did during and after their degree to get them where they are today. You record those conversations, summarize the gold nuggets, make a nice workshop out of it. Invite the philosophy students to join it for a modest fee. They get to do a live workshop with you, plus a PDF or printed book to take with them, and the recorded conversations with the successful guys as a bonus. Plus you follow up with them, checking if they are doing the required steps, giving them some accountability. Now you have your first money and by checking up on them, you see where they still struggle. You solve that problem too and include it into your workshop. Then you contact more philosophy students, maybe at another school, and organize another one. Make it a bit more expensive this time. Rinse, repeat.

Don't actually do this specific idea though (unless you go through the steps and actually happen to end up there) because I just pulled it out of my ass and it's not based on real data. The problem is most people are too lazy/shy to go have those conversations and get that data for themselves. They think that just googling shit should be enough. Not so. Real market research is valuable, and takes sweat equity to acquire. Whatever market research data you can find without doing the work to get it, should be assumed to be either wrong, outdated, or some combination thereof

You need to have expert specialist domain knowledge in something you can offer to people online. From there it's just networking for clients.

Also making money online is extremely saturated and has been for years, don't believe people when they say bs like "you can make 6 figures in 6 months".

Investing, stock trading, and trying to create passive income are nearly impossible to do successfully unless you are already established financially with a lot of capitol. It's alluring but it's a soul sucking grind with no guarantee of success. It's more likely you'll dig yourself a hole you can't get out of.

What you should be doing is looking at schooling to get a skill that pays decent and isn't easily replaceable, and a solid bump above minimum wage. Trucking and machine jobs that need licenses are good because they are cheapish (sub $1000) to get and can get you good jobs.

Just finding low energy work like driving and other things to make extra cash will get you ahead. Most online businesses are just scams and scalping, it's fools gold. You're gonna have to work hard no matter what.
