How does the mother pass consciousness to the baby?

We all know how the baby develops physically in the womb but I find it mysterious how the consciousness of the mother (and the father) can be passed to the baby. 

A baby is not only flesh, blood, and bones. At the same time it consciousness. Does it come from the sperm and the mother is just the host or something? Wtf.

The baby's consciousness includes their parents and its body, the consciousness literally constructs the body. The consciousness of the baby has always existed, it just constructed time and the baby avatar, but the consciousness already exists, it wasn't passed on by their parents.

The brain does not generate the consciousness, the consciousness imagines the brain.

Birth is as imaginary as death.

@StarStruck pretend the semen is a container of light the light shoots into the woman and is contained within it to run the dna code and create you. You are the consciousness not the human. Your light can leave the body and merge with the sun when you die and your conciousness can merge with the universe. When you die you roll back the beam of light and see your entire life again and return to the big bang.

Consciousness is everywhere, so that is not what is being passed on. What you're really asking for is this: how does the baby get its own window out on the world? You already answered it: through growth. Consciousness gives birth to the body, and through growth, it attains its perceptual and cognitive capabilities (sights, sounds, sense of touch, smells, emotions, visual imagery, conceptual reasoning, self-reflection). The body, perception and cognition all happen within consciousness. Consciousness comes prior to all of it.
