The Dial Comes To Town

1 post in this topic

I love this:

Good times.

Sixty years later:

I love the reactions of the audience. When was the last time a visionary presented something new that made the audience go berserk? When the Star Destroyer appeared at the beginning of A New Hope, the audience applauded, even though they didn't know what Star Wars was. We don't have those kinds of exciting experiences anymore, because at this point in time we know everything, and even the seemingly new isn't really new anymore. It's difficult to blow people's minds away, because the mind is familiar with everything. Disrupting that familiarity with something truly novel is very difficult, if not impossible, these days.

"Make a gift of your life and lift all mankind by being kind, considerate, forgiving, and compassionate at all times, in all places, and under all conditions, with everyone as well as yourself. That is the greatest gift anyone can give." - Dr. David R. Hawkins
