Guru always talk over you.

A therapist talks about your conditions with you and seeks to find a solution with you.

Therapists are garbage and don't provide you with Love. A guru will provide you with all the love you need to heal.

"Say to the sheep in your secrecy when you intend to slaughter it, Today you are slaughtered and tomorrow I am.
Both of us will be consumed.

My blood and your blood, my suffering and yours is the essence that nourishes the tree of existence.'"

I disagree, it depends on who is the therapist.

A therapist is really a doctor of mind and emotion. His purpose is to help the patient cope or change mind conditioning, and discover repressed emotion. A therapist is much about opening the biography of the character, usually the most repressed and hidden material. The best way to do this, as a therapist, is with love - being open, non-judgmental towards the patient.

The guru's "job" is not to provide love, or fulfill any need of the devotee/student/seeker. The will only make the latter dependent on the guru, like a cult. The role of the guru is to point to Consciousness.

From my perspective, this is not always necessarily the case. Not all gurus know God, and we can’t assume there isn’t a therapist that doesn’t know God.

The difference to me is that gurus are more like spiritual teachers, whereas therapists are more like mental health guides to help people improve their mental well-being. Therapists are basically like a mirror and mostly listen, ask reflective questions, and encourage/challenge the clients on ways they can get through their suffering.

A guru is not as capable or “qualified” to help people process traumas and other concerns in a therapeutic way. Teaching someone isn’t the same as therapy becomes therapy requires the processing and uncovering of emotional pain.

“Our most valuable resource is not time, but rather it is consciousness itself. Consciousness is the basis for everything, and without it, there could be no time and no resource possible. It is only through consciousness and its cultivation that one’s passions, one’s focus, one’s curiosity, one’s time, and one’s capacity to love can be actualized and lived to the fullest.” - r0ckyreed

Lot of false gurus out there.

Then again, few gurus actually call themselves gurus.

A therapist believes in the epic, full of twists and turns.

A guru may believe in himself, but that’s as far as he’ll believe in anything.

Apparently.

Guru: the Mind create the world.

Therapist: the world create our mind.

?

Ultimately: "guru" and "therapist" are one just as the "student" and "teacher" are one, as you integrate more and more of reality and "God consciousness" :P.

A Therapist helps you solve your problems.

A Guru helps you solve the problems you didn't even know you had.

A Therapist helps you achieve a healthy ego self.

A Guru helps you destroy your ego self.

A Therapist helps you come back up to average.

A Guru helps you go beyond average.

A Therapist helps you gain the ability to have fun in life.

A Guru helps you gain the ability to feel bliss in life.

A Therapist makes you a functioning member of society.

A Guru shows you how society is dysfunctional.

A Therapist can't do what a Guru can do.

A Guru can do what a Therapist can do.

A Therapist helps the weakest and the most crippled.

A Guru helps the 'strongest' and the most intellectual.

A Therapist helps you detangle your psychological problems.

A Guru helps you detangle yourself.

A Therapist shows you how to get out of your own way.

A Guru shows you you are the way.

A Therapist helps you love yourself.

A Guru helps you love yourself deeper.

A Therapist helps you up the spiral till green at most.

A Guru takes you from Green to maybe beyond.

A Therapist helps you become sane.

A Guru helps you go insane.

A Therapist loves helping people overcome themselves.

A Guru loves helping himself overcome himself. ;)

You get the point. A Guru is basically an upgraded Therapist. A Therapist even the most mentally sound need.
