A Lot Of People Underestimate Their Own Intelligence

9 posts in this topic

I understand, you grew up in a world that told you "What do you know?" "What makes you think you are special?" Truthfully that last one...was a very ignorant question. By virtue of you existing you are special. This is not some woo, woo, hurrah, hurrah everybody is special statement this is undeniably true. You are the one creation that will exist the way you are....ever....there will never be another creation...just like you. So what that means is you can offer a perspective, which is really just a spin, a different way of observing and expressing that will unique among an infinite amount of expressions possible. I mean...who couldn't see your potential for greatness? There can only BE YOU!!!

So once you understand this, take a bow, nobody can beat you in the competition of being you. You were never competing with anyone, comparison is delusion how can you compare something that is a unique expression? Should a blind man compare himself to someone with sight? Should a victim of bullying compare himself to someone who was popular growing up? Can you even gain anything from this? There is a famous phrase "Comparison is the thief of all joy." Of course it is, all delusion is. When you realize you live in a world chock full of delusion, fads, trends, mass programming into normalcy, and even the counter cultures end of following the same system when they go mainstream. They are packaged and presented to you in a specific way to entice you, they need you to buy in so they can rob you of your unique expression.

Its like spending time creating a unique story character, and then allowing publishers to turn that character into a "cliche." Picture somebody trying to create Mario today instead of the 80's. You tell someone you want to make a short Italian Plumber who is going to jump on top of people to defeat them and jump into giant pipes to traverse the various stages and he will eat a flower to shoot fireballs....they will laugh you out of their office and tell you nobody would play a game with a character like that.

But what does someone who understands their value do? They push on, and by them pushing on they present a blueprint we can all follow. For every excuse you give yourself for not expressing your talents there is another person who had more and stronger excuses that proved you wrong. There are no excuses, only fears. Its okay, those fears you have were given to you, they didn't enter when you popped up that happened afterwards.

Expressing yourself and believing that self-expression is worth something is a tricky thing, if you do it for money you will become a sell-out, if you do it for popularity (views) you become hostage to the opinions of others, if you do it for yourself then you do it for the love of doing it which will make it the most authentic expression you can have of yourself.

So ask yourself...your life is ticking down...everyday... do you have it in you to express yourself in the only way you can? In a way that is specific to your sensibilities and perspective? Or will you deny the world of your magnificence and then judge it as the one blocking you illuminating it with your brilliance? Its like you handcuff yourself and then blame the handcuffs for holding you back.

In the words of Eminem "You better lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime

I'll edit this....the opportunity is YOUR WHOLE life time. But....that life...will be a blip in the radar of infinity...so...don't let it slip by.

You are a selfless LACK OF APPEARANCE, that CONSTRUCTS AN APPEARANCE. But that appearance can disappear and reappear and we call that change, we call it time, we call it space, we call it distance, we call distinctness, we call it other. But notice...this appearance, is a SELF. A SELF IS A CONSTRUCTION!!!

So if you want to know the TRUTH OF THE CONSTRUCTION. Just deconstruct the construction!!!! No point in playing these mind games!!! No point in creating needless complexity!!! The truth of what you are is a BLANK!!!! A selfless awareness....then that means there is NO OTHER, and everything you have ever perceived was JUST AN APPEARANCE, A MIRAGE, AN ILLUSION, IMAGINARY.

Everything that appears....appears out of a lack of appearance/void/no-thing, non-sense (can't be sensed because there is nothing to sense). That is what you are, and what arises...is made of that. So nonexistence, arises/creates existence. And thus everything is solved.

It's probably a bit of both, I've seen people think they were very good at something, very smart - only to be hit with dunning-kruger and then I've seen smart people generally not know they are very smart.  This is where a good sense of reality testing comes into play.  It's always good to have people around you that are smarter than you, so you don't end up thinking you know more than you do - this can keep you grounded.  At the same time, it's good not to base what you think of yourself entirely off of what other people say, only you can ultimately know how smart you are, what goes on inside your head and what your potential could be.  I've had people tell me that I'm not smart, just because I didn't agree with them and their methods, and that somehow me not mirroring exactly what the person wanted to hear was somehow connected to my intelligence.  Kind of an unintelligent conclusion to make.  Sometimes you can have people try to "train" your reactions to suit their needs, but if you're smart - you won't fall for it.  Generally institutions tend to do this, schools, jobs...  In the past, I had teachers tell me that I straight up didn't do the work that I did because it was "too good".  People generally can't see intelligence when it's in front of them, it's actually not that easy to spot - because it can be easily faked and mimicked.

Basically, divine intelligence is creativity.  If you can tap into your own personal well of this, and build upon it in some ways, this is great - not a lot of people can do that - this generally isn't something that can be measured, either.  It's going to the source, so to speak.

In order to do this, people need to develop a sense of their own creativity, their own sense of self.  They have to go within, fully, to the very end and see what's there.  Because this takes work, authenticity, and bravery, many people are not willing to do what it takes to be creative, thus divinely intelligent.  I agree, there is no competition, people just genuinely need to look inside themselves and they will find it if they really want it.  But if not, they will forever be seeking fool's gold outside of themselves, the fake intelligence that lacks heart and soul, that dominates the modern era.

I make things for myself, to make me happy, to express myself and for no one else.

@Razard86 Thanks, man. Needed this.

Sometimes I have these realizations that I'm actually pretty well off and very lucky, but not often enough and I put myself down way too much.

Plus this is much better than the "you are loved" pictures you would find on Reddit or Twitter that are completely meaningless and do nothing. This comes from a much higher place than that.

So thanks again! Love ya.

So what should people do besides knowing and expressing what they really want?

I think you're also hinting towards some sort of insecurity related to intelligence and general comparisons. On one hand it's great to cherish one's uniqueness meanwhile on the other it's great to be humble about who you're. If someone excels at a skill you lack and you're not a deeply insecure person, you should have no problem in praising the other person. It comes down to Humility really. Some people are really more valuable than others, it really depends on the context you use, for example someone like Michael Jackson is simply undeniable in their talent and you cannot afford to ignore that they are uniquely gifted and different from the rest of the crowd, shouldn't they be valued for the different taste they bring to the table, or the insane amount of hard work they put into building their craft, to compare it to a rookie and not value this hard work would seem equally unfair to me, granted that we should be generally encouraging towards everyone for their uniqueness, yet a standout is always going to attract our attention. I don't see a problem with it. It doesn't necessarily presuppose that others are lacking, in fact it ordains standards that we can look up to to improve ourselves, these kind of comparisons don't make us feel small, rather they serve as a benchmark for improvement.

Be careful being too demanding in relationships. Relate to the person at the level they are at, not where you need them to be.

No matter what Michael Jackson could have done in his life he could never have been you. He could have worked his hardest, gave 100 percent effort and never accomplished this goal. No matter how much effort, no how matter how much toil someone were to put in, they could never express themselves exactly like you and this is the one impossibility in all of reality.

Sit down and ponder on that for a moment. There is no way for someone to express you perfectly.... if that doesn't wake you up to what I am saying...I don't know what will.

What else is there? You do it on small levels everyday, but the things you do want you don't think you are good enough to deserve you will self-sabotage until you think you deserve it, scratch that KNOW you deserve it. You are here to express yourself, on every level you can manage and enjoy the ride while you do it.

Its what I am here for. I made it my life purpose a long time ago to just be a beacon of inspiration to others, its the only thing that makes me feel alive, when I can make someone else feel alive. Call me a rip chord, I want to rip the resistance out of everyone to power towards their heart felt desires.
