I do empty as a general rule. If you're really not worried about feeling nauseous though, you can go for it.

Just speaking from some reports I've read, it's true that at least some humans trip harder and with less difficulty, if they fast prior to consumption.

Neither. I have a light meal several hours before tripping. I snack on small things during the trip if I feel like I need energy. Once I feel the trip is mostly over I’m usually depleted so I eat a meal and that sobers me up nicely.

I prefer fasted. My trips have a “cleaner” feel to them while fasted. I feel like it helps with mental clarity
