That’s an interesting question, and I’ll answer it by taking a more pseudo nihilist approach, I would say nothing has meaning until we give it meaning. People (or sentient beings) are the creators of meaning of the universe.

For example, when you are born, there is no particular meaning behind it. You are born because your mother and father had sex, you are just a consequence of their intercourse. It is up to you, to find meaning in your life. Something that you live for.

There really isn’t a definitive meaning to anything. Either there is a disturbing abundance of meaning in the universe, or there is no meaning in the universe, it’s just an infinite flow of cause and effect. (Unless you believe in pre-determinism and theology).

I’ll be honest, I like questions like these that really get me thinking.

For something to appear meaningless. There needs to be a notion of meaning that is obscured. Otherwise meaninglessness could not be seen as such.
