Regarding serving bufo to others

8 posts in this topic

Hi friends,

I'd like to hear your perspectives on serving bufo.

Assuming an appropriate dose, set, and setting, in which all harm reduction practices are known and used:

 - How important do you feel formal initiation to be?

 - How many times must one be served before they are considered fit to serve?

 - Do you feel it appropriate to serve without explicit permission from those who first served you?

For some context I've worked with various visionary and entheogenic substances for 17 years, and have been serving n,n-DMT for three years.

I have been served bufo on two occasions in a ceremonial setting for a total of 5 doses, and have served myself synthetic 5-MeO-DMT on several occasions.

I welcome all discussion on these and other points, in particular from those who serve.

I personally wouldn’t go near someone serving 5-meo or Bufo that hasn’t been trained.  My guide went through a rigorous training from a shaman in Mexico City.  It’s a lot of responsibility.  If you are professionally serving others you need to be able to properly screen and also be capable of handling worst case scenarios.   At minimum, if you don’t know CPR, you are setting yourself up for a murder charge.

I want to share my Story of a contact with a young naive shaman girl. She offered psilohuasca. I asked her if She also do 5 meo dmt.she said Yeah no Problem.she then sent me a date and offering.

I could not believe my eyes what She wrote there. She wanted to offer psilohuasca and 5 meo on the same date. I canceled everything with her. Thats too strong for first time beginner.

Later I asked her if She ever did 5 meo in her life and She said no, just some ayahuasca experiences.

Dont be like her..

my sister lives in a town of, shall we say, hippies. a facilitator arrived 1,5 years ago and began to facilitate bufo. my sister had a trauma that still lasts, she entered a kind of mental regression, increasingly attached and untreatable. a friend of her, a national jiu jitsu champion, quite narcissistic, committed suicide a few days later by jumping off a bridge in the highway. it is not a joke.

I believe that this has to be done by someone who has the motivation, the perseverance, the courage to do it alone. if not better not do it

Don't serve. You never know how it will affect someone. You don't want that responsibility. People really need to be willing to travel and trip with experts in places like Mexico or Costa Rica at a retreat centre that does proper screening, and has deeply trained facilitators and legal work in place.

Trip on your own all you want... even then be fucking careful.

I have the toads myself and am not trained or professional. However I give it to my friends. It's just common sense when it comes down to harm reduction

@Johnnyyeah Yeah well, not everyone has common sense and… it only takes one bad reaction to harm yourself or others.

Whatever you do… safety safety safety. Get good at holding your own space for a few years. Also, ask yourself if you want to be a drug dealer if you get caught.

I have learned to be EXTREMELY cautious with these things. I personally don’t facilitate or even talk about these substances anymore. It’s a secret I have.

Maybe in ten years if I run retreats in Mexico. We will see.

For now… I’m focused on developing maturity, understanding and best practices. I personally have had unfortunate reactions to 5meo. Only once of twice out of like 100 trips but… it’s reminded me to be cautious. Maybe I lack common sense lol. But, I’m building a deep understanding and best safety practices. Don’t underestimate these things.

Ive also learned how something effects me may be totally different than you. 5meomalt for example doesn’t work for me. I really tried pushing it and nothing. But know someone who had a really powerful reaction to the same amount.

I have learned to give these medicines the greatest respect.  That’s why I do ceremonies.  It’s about respecting their power and holding space.  At any moment, they can decide to take you into uncharted territory and farther down the rabbit hole than you are prepared to go.  Less medicine is better.
