Jreg

Really love what this guy does and ive been watching him for a bit now. Had alot of influence on me.

What do you guys think of Jreg?

I personally see him as a 2nd tier stage yellow thinker. Swapping between perspectives. Holding multiple views simaltaenously. Forcing people to think for themselves being intentionally contradictory and implicit. Holding meta perspectives.

Hes an inspiration!

He's a clever guy. I wouldn't call that Tier 2 though. He's basically just deconstructing a bunch of worldviews and exploring the fringes of ideology and cultural MEMEs. It's hard to judge of course since he's always being sarcastic. I don't think a person at Tier 2 would just spend their life creating edgy, sarcastic comedy bits though. There is no real recognition of values or meaning or a sense of sacredness in anything he does. Seems quite postmoderny to me.

“Did you ever say Yes to a single joy? O my friends, then you said Yes to all woe as well. All things are chained and entwined together, all things are in love; if ever you wanted one moment twice, if ever you said: ‘You please me, happiness! Abide, moment!’ then you wanted everything to return!” - Friedrich Nietzsche

I see him as a meta-ironic Sam Hyde type figure. You can't agree or disagree with him because it's almost impossible to know what he actually believes, unless you sat down with him off-camera for an extended period of time. He's always in character even when you think you're seeing his authentic self.

I find his videos both enjoyable and frustrating at the same time. That's the point.

What's truly ironic is that iDubbbz stole that video idea from Jreg himself.

Intrinsic joy is revealed in the marriage of meaning and being.

I think Jreg is an absolute genius at capturing the Gen Z spirit, a generation which in my opinion will be likely known for Yellow stage thinking.
