Is sexuality and gender a social construct?

Hi, 

So I was just scrolling through YouTube shorts and came across a very short confrontation between Jordan Peterson and some Trans rights activist (I’m not sure exactly who they were). It got me thinking about the nature of the human mind and sexuality etc. 
 

The basic disagreement between the two was that: 

- By speaking about transgender issues publicly, that is PROMOTING/INFLUENCING people to go down that path. 
 

- As opposed to talking about transgender issues revealing what was already inside the person in the first place, since it is now more accepted. 

What are your views on this? I’m not sure I’ve made myself particularly clear, but I’ve tried my best.

Not sure about sexuality . Your sexuality is highly dependent on your genetics.  Also whether you are a male or female obviously depends on your genitals. So I don't think it's a social construct .it's all determined by biology. Society plays a role .but it's secondary. Biology comes first .
