I want an American girlfriend, but I'm European

18 posts in this topic

Mostly because I want to live in a English speaking country, nothing special about America necessarily, the Brits have annoying accents, I don't know much about Australia or its culture, New Zealand is at the edge of the world. That leaves only Canada and the US.

Why not just... go there? Well moving is a long process, I was planning in getting a Visa through business, a business that I haven't built yet. Unlike my desire to move, my desire for sex and relationships can't wait that long.

Any tips? Less legal tips are also welcome.

We have one of the most diverse sets of accents of any country in the world, they're not all terrible :P

Hell, girls with the slightly posh London accent drive me fucking crazy, in a good way. Some of them are really hot

If you move to the US you gotta deal with all of their absolutely shitty politics, and you might randomly get shot. I'd go with Canada or the UK if you can. I'm sure Canada has quite a good immigration policy if you have a decent job, my boss moved there a few years back and recommended it.

The UK, well, honestly idek where our immigration stands after Brexit

If you're under 30 and from Australia, Canada, Monaco, New Zealand, San Marino, Iceland, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, or Taiwan you can go between any of those countries with a Youth Mobility Scheme visa. That's how I moved to England for 2 years. You just need about £2,500 in savings and you're pretty much guaranteed.

Other EU countries might have similar arrangements

It's worth doing it the right way, otherwise it'll be nearly impossible to get jobs except sketchy ones where you're paid cash under the table.

I'm from Croatia and from how much I've seen, it's not any easier to move compared to non eu countries. Though it might be easier to travel to, the problem is staying. Brexit

That being said I would't necessarily mind the accent as much as I made you believe, I'd be happy with a British girlfriend. Moving to the UK is still problematic

Never heard of it, money is not a problem. Where did you live prior to moving? And how long are you allowed to stay? Are you eligible for any extensions?

Bro, not dating someone because of their accent is ridiciously superficial. I doubt you would turn down a smart kind caring honest cute girl just because of her accent. There is nothing special about american girls outside maybe being more friendly and slutty than europeans which have are more uptight at least western ones.

It might be superficial but it's also more inconvenient than you'd expect. If you aren't operating from a place of scarcity, it seems fine to me to discriminate against potential partners just based on accent. It's a burden you don't need.

I'm Canadian and dated (and lived) with a British woman for like 5+ years. Even after years you're still constantly not understanding what they say and having to ask them to repeat themselves, it's super annoying. And that's AFTER basically learning a whole new dialect. Going from American English to British English there are HUNDREDS of unique words and substitutions (some regional that even other British people don't understand) that you have to pick up and clarify over time as they pop up. And that's two people that speak the same language... I can't even imagine being English and dating a German person, dealing with grammar problems and mispronunciations on top of that.

Maybe I am just that superficial though. I'd probably turn down a girl with a large and ugly enough birthmark, even if everything else was perfect, if I couldn't get over it.

I wouldn't turn down a cute girl because of her British accent, but if I had to choose I'd choose American. There's more to it though, UK just isn't attractive to me as a country. If I'm gonna work my ass off to move to another country, it better be CA or US. UK is too stiff, just like their European neighbors. Americans seem to be dumber on average, which makes them more social on average, I'd fit right in.

? everyone got roasted

Any thoughts on CA Express entry?

Usually he consumes a lot porn content from American women. But I think he never met one in real life.

With these standards how can you even find a partner? Every person has flaws.

This is low quantity even for the dating section. 9_9

Imagine not desiring this? Then you wouldn't suffer. Desire is like taking your joy and putting it away in a safe and only taking it back out when you get what you want.

No desire = Rich with Joy = Abundance mindset

Now no desire is impractical but the general idea is we want to move away from pilling up the desires to unrealistic levels.

Learn to just let things go.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?
