Is life too short or too long ?

7 posts in this topic

Have you ever heard of the Indian phrase;

“सुख के दिन नींद आती नही और दुख सोने नहीं देता”

Meaning, When you're happy you can't sleep and Sadness doesn't let's you sleep.

That's the same thing with life. When we are happy days pass by like moments and when we are sad, every moment seems like eternity.

when i say life is too short , this means you shouldnt take up small things for granted . every moment is so important so there’s no use spending it being frustrated or angry about things that you cant change . life is fragile enough so take the opportunity to enjoy living , despite what situation you’re in .

whether it’s beauty of sunrise or cup of coffee , enjoy the simple things.

you stop wasting your time and energy on unnecessary things such as negativity or toxicity but rather , you embrace emotions such as gratitude and kindness . you know that moment wont last and you take advantage of being in that moment .

my mind is gone to a better place.  I'm elevated ..going out of space . And I'm gone .

I think life is long enough. Youth could last a bit longer. But, I’m glad it’s not like 500 years. Jeez

I think it's relative . There is no black and white answer.

Life is Too short if you filled with joy, too long if you are filled with misery. But Both joy and misery are drama finally.

   I think you need to elaborate more on that statement 'when you're happy you can't sleep and sadness doesn't let you sleep', because it sounds to me you're making that happiness and sadness equal here. Why say happiness doesn't let you sleep, and then sadness doesn't let you sleep also, but then later on say that your days and moments in life past faster when happy, but not sad? Unless in the example of days going faster when happy, you meant to also say that when sad days go slower, right? Let's assume that's the case, so if that's the case, shouldn't you contrast happiness to sadness?

   Please explain in more detail if I'm wrong in my assumptions of what you're communicating here.

When you are on top of the world and feeling amazing because you've been kicking ass in life (whether you have fallen in love with someone,won the lottery etc) then you can't sleep from the amount of positive energy you are experiencing.

The same goes with sadness but its more nuanced . Usually you sleep a lot if you are sad because you are trying to escape from negative emotions. But in most cases if something is making you anxious like your exam results in university or your worried about your STD test will turn positive..then you can't sleep either  .

As a general rule ..happy time passes quickly because you are not focused on  time .you are focused on the happiness. And difficult time passes slowly because you are counting every minute in hope for the relief from the struggle.

life is a labyrinth made by a genius, and you must solve it. the labyrinth locks the pure happiness that is your substance, the more phases of the labyrinth you solve, the more happiness will flow. when there is no labyrinth, only happiness will remain. We have a time for that work. It's not easy at all, so better to be serious in it.
