I am going to do a solo retreat next week. What should my schedule be like?

I am going to be doing a 3 day solo retreat next week. This is something that I have yet to try since getting my health issues, so I am willing to see if this improves anything and I am hopeful that it will.

Raising my consciousness during this retreat would be good, but my main goal during this retreat is to rewire my brain to make it so that the hard things are easier and more enjoyable to do, so I am trying to reduce how stimulated my brain is, A.K.A a "Dopamine Detox". I've also been using food as a coping mechanism so I think this will help with that too.

I will completely avoid the internet, do intermittent fasting + a carnivore diet, and only do a few activities (will mention below). I also want to feel a lot more present, and in touch with reality.

Here are my questions:

  1. What activities should I do?
    • I am thinking of doing these activities (and only these activities) during the retreat:
      1. Kriya Yoga
        • I bought physical copies of the books on Kriya Yoga in Leo's book list. I will be using the books during the retreat.
      2. Introspection/Journaling
        • I have some introspection exercises I am ready to do during the retreat.
      3. Meditation
      4. Mindfulness Meditation
      5. Shamanic Breathing and/or Wim Hof breathing (I am not sure which one to do or if I should do both)
        • I will be having a downloaded MP3 or MP4 file of a guided shamanic breathing session. Haven't chosen it yet so if you have any suggestions let me know.
    • Do you have any suggestions for what else can be added to this list?
  2. What should my schedule be like?
    • To make sure I that I stick to the activities I am going to do, I need to have a schedule so that I know what I should be doing at all times. I don’t ever want to be asking the question “What should I be doing right now?” at any time during the retreat.
    • To answer this question I need to have an idea of how long I should practice these activities and techniques for. How long should I be doing each of the activities for?

Is anything else I should consider for this retreat?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Good on your for setting up a solo retreat.

If I were you, I wouldn't be too regimented with my time. Boredom is your friend.

How many of the above activities are already a habit?

1. What should my schedule be like is CO-DEPENDENT. This is a question you ask yourself.

The proper question if you do not want to be co-dependent is to ask people what activities they like so you can choose based on their suggestions what sounds good. I'm not sure you meant it but the question implies you want someone else to tell you what do.

The purpose of the retreat is freedom. You want to free yourself by taking ownership, absolute ownership of all your decisions. Meditation is ownership, Yoga is ownership. Journaling is ownership. It is the part of you that realizes that accountability to one's self is freedom from the illusion of things happening to you.

So there is nothing wrong with looking for suggestions. But nobody should be telling you what your schedule should be like. Only you can do that. You are the President, we are just your Cabinet offering suggestions.

You are a selfless LACK OF APPEARANCE, that CONSTRUCTS AN APPEARANCE. But that appearance can disappear and reappear and we call that change, we call it time, we call it space, we call it distance, we call distinctness, we call it other. But notice...this appearance, is a SELF. A SELF IS A CONSTRUCTION!!!

So if you want to know the TRUTH OF THE CONSTRUCTION. Just deconstruct the construction!!!! No point in playing these mind games!!! No point in creating needless complexity!!! The truth of what you are is a BLANK!!!! A selfless awareness....then that means there is NO OTHER, and everything you have ever perceived was JUST AN APPEARANCE, A MIRAGE, AN ILLUSION, IMAGINARY.

Everything that appears....appears out of a lack of appearance/void/no-thing, non-sense (can't be sensed because there is nothing to sense). That is what you are, and what arises...is made of that. So nonexistence, arises/creates existence. And thus everything is solved.

I mostly just want an idea of how long I should do the practices for and what practices I should consider doing, not an exact, rigid schedule. That’s why I said “be like” and not just “be”.

That’s a really nice way to put it :)
