Awakening Prologue
I started my Holosync journey in February 2022, and before I started, I was searching all across the internet for detailed experiences and reviews of Holosync. This kinda surprised me because there were plenty of people VERY hyped about Holosync.
So I want to change that and document all the things that happen to me.
But before we get into Holosync itself, I think it's pretty important for you to know from where I started.
I started meditating around 2016 with Shinzen Young's system, which I found through Leo. However, my main issue in life is doing anything consistently, so I would meditate regularly for about 3-5 months and then quit. This essentially made all growth really slow and frustrating. Through the years, I increased my meditation time from 10 minutes to 1 hour, and now I'm in Stage 4 in Culadasa's TMI system.
Okay, so now let's move on to what Holosync is and why I would recommend Holosync specifically over the stuff you get from youtube. ( I'm not being paid to say any of this, I swear )
When we sit down to meditate, our brain produces certain brainwaves due to specific mental operations. The better we are at these mental operations, the deeper we go. The bad news is that it takes a lot of effort to get our minds consistently into a state of deep meditation.
What Holosync does differently is that it tricks the brain into that state by playing specific sounds there is no effort required apart from consistently sitting down and playing the sounds. There are 13 levels in total, each training your brain to go deeper into meditation.
There are three reasons why I would recommend Holosync:
1. You may or may not find stuff that is just as good on youtube, but the drawbacks are that you spend a lot of time finding ones that work.
2. Holosync isn't cheap ( yes, I see that as a plus), which means you will be even more motivated to use it.
3. The Holosync support material, like the book, is incredible.
So does Holosync work, and if yes, how?
Yup, it works amazingly. Here is a rough timeline of what happened when.
Within the first 3 days, I noticed that I was way less irritated.
Within a couple of weeks, I noticed that although I wasn't consistent with my other manual meditation practice, I was still making solid progress.
I was calmer, happier, and more relaxed for the next 2 and a half months when shit hit the fan in the 3rd month. I had mood swings like I never did before. I was crying one hour and then was blissful the next. I would become teary-eyed at random things I found beautiful or motivating.
What I want to specifically highlight is that I was finally able to cry. I never cry (I have cried like 3 times in the past 10 years) because I was raised not to, this led to an enormous amount of emotional repression.
In the last month, everything smoothed out although I was still kinda emotional, I still became teary-eyed frequently if I saw beautiful things.
The things I got out of Awakening Prologue are:
-less worry and more motivation to be creative
-more access to my emotions
-more awareness and calm
-better manual meditation
