@thisintegrated what you generally believe in

For example I like to have an order to my life, whatever you hold dear or what matters to you and your general principles.

@thisintegrated for example. Let's say your girlfriend cheated on you and you might say that it's not in your value system to be ok with cheating so you break off. But another person, their value system includes forgiveness and they place forgiveness at a higher value than judging a person for their mistake, as a result they will salvage the relationship and work out a resolution so that the partner agrees to stop cheating.

Hmm, okay.

Well it's all relative for me.  If I got cheated on, I might forgive them, but then I'd consider our relationship permanently open.  And I'd downgrade the GF to a "good friend" or "friend with benefits".  And I'd see where it goes from there.

When it comes to everything, I just go with the flow.  You can never know all the facts, and making firm decisions based on based is childish/dumb 99% of the time.

Hard to tell because my values change and shift all the time due to life experience.

Values are usually fairly stable, yet they don't have strict limits or boundaries. Also, as you move through life, your values may change. For example, when you start your career, success  measured by money and status might be a top priority. But after you have a family, work-life balance may be what you value more.

As your definition of success changes, so do your personal values. This is why keeping in touch with your values is a lifelong exercise. You should continuously revisit this, especially if you start to feel unbalanced... and you can't quite figure out why.

As one go through the life..one should bear in mind that values that were important in the past may not be relevant now.

@Preety_India own values or values expected in others?

I might greatly value curiosity in others, but if I lost my own curiosity it wouldn't matter much to me.

I might greatly value my own achievements, but I really don't care if the people I know have achieved anything.

@thisintegrated your own values

I have just one:  Fun.

Literally not a single other thing I value.

Love = fun

Hard work = enables fun

Wisdom = ensures you keep having fun

Knowledge = fun in itself, and enables more fun

Humor = fun

Curiosity = knowledge = fun

Creativity = curiosity = knowledge = fun

Achievement = enables fun and/or is proof of fun had

Stability = enables the continuation of fun

Family = stability = continuation of fun

etc., etc.

It's all literally just one thing.  Fun.  Why else would you exist, if not for the fun of it?

 Be careful being too demanding in relationships. Relate to the person at the level they are at, not where you need them to be.

“Did you ever say Yes to a single joy? O my friends, then you said Yes to all woe as well. All things are chained and entwined together, all things are in love; if ever you wanted one moment twice, if ever you said: ‘You please me, happiness! Abide, moment!’ then you wanted everything to return!” - Friedrich Nietzsche
