Dangers of Shamanic / WHM breath work?

4 posts in this topic

Did some WHM breathing last night but went a little longer than usual. At some point I slowed time down a bit and got so concentrated on the breath which created a oneness.

Although I wasn't totally surprised by it, I did get a bit scared. In your experience is it dangerous to breathe for long on your own? Is it okay to lose conscious control and keep going?

My heart wasn't open either, is it better to do some heart chakra work first? Do you set a mantra?

Thanks!

The main dangers are related to your respiratory system and cardiovascular system. If you have issues with your lungs, don't add more stress to them by breathing rapidly. Also, don't generate too much tension while holding your exhale, and especially your inhale as that creates internal pressure upwards to your brain. If you're unlucky, you could cause a tear in the capillaries in your brain which can lead to stroke, or cause long term bruising of the inner layers of the capillaries and veins/arteries that'll lead to a stroke in the future, or a heart attack. Fun fact: Dim Mak is a martial art that focuses on striking vital points of the human body, to compound pain or cause immense damage through over stimulating the opponent's nervous system. While there's fluff and wierd strikes, strikes to the arteries/veins, especially in the neck, are more dangerous as they can cause momentary spike in blood pressure upwards to the brain, which can either cause an immediate fissure in the capillaries right there, or long term scarring that'll eventually Actualize later in life.

Honestly I'm fed up with Wim Hoff method breathing technique and shamanic techniques flippantly being adviced without proper warnings and disclaimers to their potential dangers to a person's lungs and cardiovascular system. Just because a method works for one person, doesn't mean it works for everyone. It all depends on your health and if your lungs and heart can hanele it.

Yes, there some dangers. You could activate kundalini inadvertently.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

I don't feel ready for that as I'm loving my life more every day. Do I wait until more suffering comes? I'm still working on my lower chakras and have barely scratched the surface of opening my heart chakra.
